1967 Buick Electra Base Hardtop 4-door 7.0l on 2040-cars

Year:1967 Mileage:153801
Location:

Houston, Texas, United States

Houston, Texas, United States

I have owned this Buick since 1988. It was originally a Florida car, spent some time in Ohio (never saw snow or salt though), and is currently in Houston, Texas. I had restored it after I first got it, and enjoyed it for a number of years. Other obligations over the past few years and I have not been able to keep it up like I would like to have. We are also in the process of moving, so it might be time to let it go.

This is a 1967 Buick Electra 225 4 Door Hardtop. It has Power Seat and Power Windows, and a Speed Alert that buzzes at you when you reach a specified speed. It originally had an AM radio, which I still have if you are interested, and a Power Antenna. All were working at the time I dropped it off at my mechanics shop (where it still is) with a knock in the engine. We have not determined the cause of the knock, so we do not know how serious it is. This is the original Buick Big-Block 430 - 4 Barrel Carb, engine it came with, complete with dual exhaust. When running well, this car has plenty of power, and can cruise at highway speeds without blinking an eye.

I know this car will need some work, but is a good solid base to start with. While I would like to sell the car, I do not feel the need to give it away either. If it does not sell, I will just hang on to it until I can afford to work on it again.

It is also for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early with the right offer. Those bidders with less than 10 rating will need to contact me before bidding. I have a clear title for this car. $500 deposit due within 2 days after the auction close, and I will accept Paypal for the deposit. Total remainder due within 7 days unless other arrangements are made prior to the close of the auction, Title will not be released until all funds are cleared, and certified funds are preferred. Shipping of the car is the responsibility of the buyer, but we will help in any way we can. Car must be removed within 15 days of funds clearing, unless other arrangements are made prior to the close of the auction.

Please contact me with any questions you may have, and I will answer all questions honestly regarding this car. I have owned it for 26 years, so I know this car well.

Thank you for looking.

Buick Envision spied fully disrobed in China

Wed, 27 Aug 2014

The Buick Envision crossover is supposed to have its big reveal on August 28 and be on display at the Chengdu Motor Show, but apparently the new midsize crossover just can't wait to meet its public. Car News China caught a completely undisguised example parking outside of the convention center where the show is held.
The Buick designers are going right down the middle with the styling with nothing too flashy to turn off potential buyers. Still, it's a handsome CUV that kind of looks like a stretched Encore from some angles with vents along the hood, a large greenhouse and a prominent crease running down the side.
This new midsizer is hitting the Chinese market first and reportedly rides on GM's Delta platform that's also found underneath the Buick Verano. According to Car News China, prices there are between 160,000 yuan and 220,000 yuan ($26,000 - $35,800 at current rates). However, it's also rumored to eventually make its way across the Pacific to give Buick buyers in the US an option between the Encore compact crossover and larger Enclave.

Buick to add more GS models?

Fri, 29 Nov 2013

Buick may not be the first name that comes to mind when you think of performance automobiles, but fans of the brand know what letters to look for. If you believe the reports, there's a new GNX and Grand National on the way, but in the meantime, Buick may offer more GS models to fill the void.
Currently, the Regal is the only model available as a GS (pictured above), packing the same 259-horsepower turbo four as the Regal Turbo but enhanced with key suspension, brakes and rolling-stock upgrades. As Car and Driver notes, similar upgrades could easily be applied to the Verano and LaCrosse, although maybe not the Encore or Enclave crossovers. Of course, Buick would still have to steer clear of Cadillac's Vsport line, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a little room to play.

Movie Review: Black Air: The Buick Grand National Documentary

Thu, 06 Dec 2012

As Buick currently claws and scratches its way back into relevance to compete against luxury brands like Lexus and Acura, it's hard to believe that not too long ago, the brand had a car that was mentioned in the same breath as Corvette, Lamborghini and Ferrari. That car? None other than the Buick Grand National. All black with a turbocharged V6 and some of the quickest acceleration of its time, the Grand National, in today's standards, is along the lines of a 2013 Shelby GT500 with both cars essentially being a working man's supercar.
The last Grand National rolled off the assembly line in Flint, MI on December 11, 1987, and to mark the silver anniversary of that somber occasion, Black Air is a documentary of the Grand National from the perspective of the enthusiast, the collector, the media and even from those at General Motors responsible for creating such a sinister legend. Like the car itself, Andrew Filippone Jr. shoots the documentary in a raw fashion, and it definitely helps to show why a low-volume muscle car from the 1980s is still the object of obsession for many automotive enthusiasts to this day.
