My Daily Driver. Bmw Z3 1.9 Automatic Convertible Roadster 1997 Silver on 2040-cars

Year:1997 Mileage:166571
Location:

Roswell, Georgia, United States

Roswell, Georgia, United States

I am selling my BMW Z3. It has been my daily driver for the last 4 years. The car has a clean title. Current emissions good through September. 166,571 on the odometer.

The good:

The car runs. It has been driven every day, and has never left me stranded. It also runs at the proper temperature, Always. Strong reliable engine. Car is straight, never had a major accident. No rust. Heat works. AC works. Oil change is current.

The bad:

Check engine light came on about 5 months ago. It's not running any different than usual. Had the code read and it's catalytic related. So it either needs a need catalytic converter, or the sensors replaced. The ABS light is on. It was on when I bought it 4 years ago. Starter teeth worn out and needs replacing sooner or later(Starts the first time sometimes, sometimes takes 3 tries to start). Needs mass air flow sensor. Needs new strut mounts. The pictures look decent, but I'm a good photographer. The car has a lot of cosmetic issues. Front bumper has paint chips and cracks. Rear bumper has a scuffed look. Sides and top have scratches and glue drips and scuffs, etc. Passenger mirror works, but is being held on by duct tape(I drove too close to a recycling bin and it knocked it off). Drivers side seat has a split in the leather. Console has some scratches and discoloration. Steering wheel has some scuffs and discoloration. Needs a new amp hooked up for the stereo to work(other amp conked out). The car needs tires.

What else:

I think the brakes are still pretty decent. Top isn't ripped and doesn't leak. The head unit is nice with Bluetooth and iPhone hookup. Wheels are decent.

That's pretty much it. This is a private sale. I'll take cash, or we can meet at your bank and you can write me a cashiers check. Bill of sale required for my records. Please Feel free to message me with any questions you may have, or to schedule a test drive. I live and work in Roswell, GA.

Thank you.

M235i outpoints 911, Corvette in CR testing, becomes highest-scoring BMW ever

Fri, 27 Jun 2014

Good news just keeps coming for BMW, as Consumer Reports has just handed out a stunner of a verdict - the M235i, a spritely, 320-horsepower coupe that starts at just $43,100 has bested the likes of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and Porsche 911, vehicles that can easily cost twice as much and come to battle with considerably more power.
CR awarded the spiritual successor to the 1 Series M Coupe a score of 98 out of 100, beating out the 911 and the Stingray by three and six points, respectively. In fact, the M235i is remarkably close to the Tesla Model S' 99, making it one of the highest scores CR has ever handed out. It's also, not surprisingly, the highest-rated BMW ever.
Of the M235i's many attributes, Consumer Reports cited the car's performance potential as well as its quiet ride and comfort for front-seat passengers. While it's a shock to no one, CR called out the limited space in the backseats as well as some finicky controls as this Bimmer's biggest shortcomings.

Wedding couple celebrates nuptials in the parking lot with donuts

Sat, 21 Dec 2013

Weddings are often joyous, fun-filled occasions full of revelry and some serious celebrating. And while we appreciate the fact that a couple is being joined together, we have a feeling a video like this could have very easily ruined said couple's big day.
It stars a bride, a groom and a BMW M3. But rather than the couple being in the car and laying down some rubber, the E46 M3 is doing donuts around the couple. We shouldn't have to explain why this is a bad idea - even if the driver is competent, this could have gone wrong pretty easily. Still, it didn't, and the end result is pretty cool.

BMW reacquires original factory as classic center

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

BMW was barely two years old when it started manufacturing airplane engines in a factory on Moosacher Strasse in Munich. Two years after that, it sold the factory to Knorr-Bremse AG, a leading manufacturer of brakes for trains and commercial vehicles, and BMW moved into a new facility on Lerchenauer Strasse. There it expanded into the industrial giant we know today, building engines for cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats and planes. It's taken the better part of a century to get that original factory back, but that's exactly what BMW has done, reacquiring the expanded facility from Knorr-Bremse this month.
The factory on Moonsacher Strasse will now serve as the headquarters for BMW Group Classic, the division that handles archives and historical vehicles for BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce. From there, just a stone's throw from corporate headquarters and its main plant (as well as BMW Welt and the BMW Museum), the classic division's operations will include a restoration workshop, vintage parts store, the company's archives, administration as well as a place to hold events. In addition, there will be an exhibition space for historical vehicles from the company's considerable collection.
At the heart of the new/old campus is the gatehouse, which is a protected heritage site and will serve as a gateway into the company's history. Read the full details in the press release below.
