Hello and up for sale is a Beautiful Hellrott Red 2001 BMW Z3 Roadster with only 74,800 original miles on the car. The Z has never been in an accident and is in really nice shape. The paint has a very deep gloss to it and has been garage kept with no clear coat or paint fading. I had the front bumper refinished because of road chips and the entire car was just high speed polished, so it really looks stunning now. There are no noticalble door dings or key scratches and the body is very straight. The Convertible top is in really nice shape as well with no rips or tears. The rear window is very clear as well and is cleaned regularly with plastic polish. The Tires are in good shape and are all matching. The leather seats and interior has never been smoked in and is rip and tear free. All the electronics work as they should including cold Ac. Both windows and the power top work fine with no known issues. Below is a list of recent servicing to ensure a quality Z is for sale: All new drive belts, Serpentine and Ac belts, a heads up these cars do not have timming belts, they have timing chains which do not require changing... All fluids flushed and changed including Oil and new Filter... Both seat bushings replaced to stop the play in the seat rails...There are no service lights on the dash and the car is safe to drive anywhere as I made the trip from California when I bought the car. Mercedes fights off late BMW surge to claim 2013 luxury sales crown
Sat, 04 Jan 2014The king is dead - long live the king. Mercedes-Benz is now your new US sales champion in the fiercely competitive luxury market, deposing the champ BMW, which has enjoyed annual supremacy for the past two years.
Thanks in no small part to the dynamite launch of the new, affordable CLA-Class, not to mention a redesigned E-Class and hot-selling S-Class, Mercedes moved 33,007 units in December alone, while sales in 2013 were up 14 percent, to 312,534. BMW, meanwhile, managed to sell 309,280 units in 2013. It was far from a sure thing for the Stuttgart-based brand, though, as BMW managed to nearly halve its rival's sales lead heading into the last month of 2013.
"We saw record sales, flexed our muscles across the entire product line from top to bottom and brought the customer experience to an all-time high," said Steve Cannon, Mercedes USA's CEO. While we don't have individual figures, it seems at first blush that the CLA was really the car that pushed Mercedes over the top.
NHTSA urges owners of recalled Takata airbag vehicles to take immediate action
Mon, 20 Oct 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Department of Transportation are taking the unusual step of issuing a followup press release urging owners of certain recalled vehicles "to act immediately" to fix their cars and trucks. The problem in question concerns the repair campaigns for rupturing Takata airbag inflators issued in June and covers a long list of models from Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Mazda, BMW, Nissan, Infiniti, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile and Pontiac.
While NHSTA doesn't specifically say why the recall is vital in the new release, Toyota's own explanation in its newly announced renotification campaign earlier today sheds some new light on the topic. According to the Japanese automaker, in testing, Takata found a possible link between the rupturing airbag inflators and high humidity. NHTSA is advocating that all owners pursue repairs immediately if they haven't already done so already. This is especially crucial for those drivers especially in Florida, Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan, American Samoa, Virgin Islands and Hawaii because of the humid conditions there.
We don't need to tell you how dangerous an inadvertent airbag deployment could be - even in a stationary vehicle - but adding to the Takata issue is fears that the deployment could lead to shrapnel being sprayed into the cabin.
BMW X5 eDrive Concept is utilitarian plug-in hybrid
Tue, 10 Sep 2013Bridging the gap between internal combustion engine-powered vehicles and electric vehicles are plug-in hybrids, and BMW has made one out of its biggest sports utility vehicle, even if it's just a concept car at this point. The plug-in hybrid X5 eDrive Concept debuted today at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and it sits attached to a charge port on the show floor.
As we reported in August, the X5 eDrive Concept combines a turbocharged four-cylinder engine of unknown output with a 95-horsepower electric motor, to achieve longer range and lower emissions. The X5 eDrive can drive up to 75 miles per hour and 19 miles on electric power alone, manage about 62 miles per gallon (3.8 liters per 100 kilometers) and accelerate from 0-62 mph in under seven seconds, according to BMW.
Three drive modes are offered: one that automatically operates the hybrid system, an all-electric mode and a Save Battery mode that operates the vehicle using the engine only.
