Mint M Roadster, super fast, superb mechanical and cosmetic condition.  Car is too small for me, want to buy another interesting vehicle and may be interested in trading for Porsche Boxster S, 987 base, 996, BMW M3 2000+, Corvette C5 or C6t, or other interesting vehicle.

My car is almost in show condition. Like new top with clear rear window, very reliable and dependable. Low miles.

It has clear tail lights, not amber.  I replaced the stereo with a Sony unit with Ipod tray and phone connectivity with microphone.  It cost me over $250, brand new, but it is not hooked up yet.

Please look at my feedback of many years and bid with confidence.  Buy the car, fly to Ft. Lauderdale and drive it back.  That way you will have a chance to inspect it, drive it, and feel confident that it is 100% as described, enjoy it on your way back.

Tires are excellent.  Rear are Pirelli PZero 255-40-17. It gives it a very aggressive look.

Has quarter panel stone guards, front M badge, Momo blue shift knob.   Car is in superb condition. Car has illuminated dash in blue LED at night.  M Star wheels in great condition.  Leather M shift boot bought in the UK with M logo in color.

Please take a look at all the high definition pictures.  Car is sold as is, no warranty expressed or implied.  It is not a $100K new BMW, but an excellent example of a great M Roadster classic that will only appreciate in value.  Please expect minor imperfections consistent with age and mileage. You are welcome to come to see the car and inspect it.

BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe blows the doors back on [w/video]

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

BMW sure seems to take pleasure in confusing the hell out of us. It used to be pretty simple: if you wanted a compact Bimmer, you had to look no further than the 3 Series. Then it was just a matter of which bodystyle you wanted. But the smaller end of BMW's lineup has gotten more complicated lately. Never mind the 1 Series and 2 Series (in their various iterations) that have slotted in below it - now the 3 Series has been split in two: Want a four-door, get the new 3 Series. Want a two-door, the 4 Series is your address. Right?
Almost. Because now there's a 4 Series Gran Coupe that keeps the two-door's roofline (or some approximation of it) but adds an extra set of doors in the back, thereby bridging the gap between the 3 Series sedan and 4 Series coupe. And it's just made its public debut here at the Geneva Motor Show.
The difference between this and the two-door 4 Series is plain to see: it's got two extra doors. But what's the difference between this and the 3 Series sedan? About two or three grand, to start with - depending on which version (428i Gran Coupe or 435i Gran Coupe) you choose. But it's also sleeker, more muscular and altogether that extra bit sexier. Which is a good trait, as you can see from our gallery of live shots above, to have in your European sports sedan, coupe, or whatever you want to call it.

BMW M4 Concept bows, takes handoff from M3 Coupe

Thu, 15 Aug 2013

Remember how, when the first BMW M4 Concept images leaked earlier today, we told you the official information would be coming later this evening? Well, scratch that. The whole kit and caboodle is now online, meaning all the official details are below, as well as a full gallery of high-res images above.
The replacement for the M3 Coupe, the Concept M4 Coupe shares a number of styling similarities with its dearly departed forbearer. To us, it's kind of like a mishmash of greatest hits from the new 4 Series and the old M3. The 4 Series headlights have grown on us, and the side grilles, which are part of BMW's Air Curtain and Air Breather system, are functional.
The power dome in the hood is smaller than on the M3, but is of a similar shape, while the rear diffuser and exhaust treatment look like they're lifted straight from the old car, aside from being finished in carbon fiber. Speaking of which, the carbon fiber roof sports a new touch, a cool BMW M tri-color that runs the length of the roof on the driver's side. The 20-inch M alloy wheels come in a twin five-spoke design, which has sort of become a calling card of BMW's M cars in recent years. Hiding behind those meaty wheels are M's carbon-ceramic brakes.

China probing German automakers over spare parts

Sat, 26 Jul 2014

The Chinese market has proven to be a boon to German luxury automakers. However, the way that the companies have allegedly been controlling their supply of spare parts has begun to draw the ire of the nation's government. According to insiders speaking to Bloomberg, officials from the country's economic planning organization have opened a probe into Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and some Japanese carmakers over claimed price inflation and limiting supply.
Specifically, the investigation centers around two aspects of how the companies do business, according to Bloomberg. Investigators want to know whether the original equipment component makers are able to sell spare parts only to automaker-authorized dealers or if they are also available to independent shops. There is also the issue of whether the price markup on replacement pieces is too high. The tight controls could be partially explained by China's reputation for producing counterfeit parts.
Evidently, the investigators haven't checked parts prices at car dealers elsewhere in the world. At least in the US, paying more at the dealer for factory components just goes along with owning a vehicle. If evidence of price fixing is found, the companies could face fines the equivalent of millions of dollars, according to Bloomberg.
