Up for sale is my 2006 BMW M5. Silverstone paint with gray leather and aluminum trim inside. This car is in meticulous condition. I purchased in March of 2013 from BMW Fresno in California. In my 18 months of ownership, I added just under 5000 miles to the odometer. Only driven during the summer on the weekends, otherwise it stays parked in my garage.

Maintenance:

Clutch And Flywheel were replaced by Fresno BMW March 2013, just before my purchase. (Have receipt)

Sparkplugs replaced by Fresno BMW March 2013

All the following work performed by BMW of Eugene and BMW of Portland. (Have all receipts)

Thermostat replaced May 2013

Battery replaced July 2013

New Nitto Invo tires. May 2014. They have less than 300 miles on them.

H&R Sport Springs  May 2014

New OEM brake pads June 2014

Replaced front and side grills with black grills

Powder coated rims matte black. Flawless with absolutely no scratches or abrasions.

Added aux cord for ipod/iphone/mp3

Condition:

Interior 9 out of 10.

No scratches on center console or door panels. Never smoked in. Very slight wear on driver’s seat, otherwise other seats are in pristine condition.

Exterior 9 out of 10.

Driver’s side rear view mirror has an area where paint peeled off when I washed. (See pic)

Small scratches below rear license plate.

Hood has some rock chips as expected for this mile count.

Car comes with all original parts I removed. 2 original keys with manual and all receipts of work performed as described above. No mechanical or electrical issues during my ownership and no known issues currently.

I just don’t have enough time to enjoy this car. It deserves to be driven more.  I know a couple of auto brokers who work the west coast if you need help in setting up delivery.

Clear title in hand. I have right to end sale early as it is for sale locally as well.

Reduced to $23,900

Thanks for looking!

Popular Science magazine's Best Of What's New 2012 all ate up with cars

Tue, 20 Nov 2012

Popular Science has named the winners in its Best of What's New awards, the victors coming in the categories of aerospace, automotive, engineering, entertainment, gadgets, green, hardware, health, home, recreation, security and software. The automotive category did not go wanting for lauded advancements:
Tesla Model S: the Grand Award winner for being "the standard by which all future electric vehicles will be measured."
BMW 328i: it's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gets called out for being more powerful and frugal than the six-cylinder it replaces.

VW Golf R pitted against BMW M235i in enthusiast's choice battle

Fri, 15 Aug 2014

Most people don't have two, open spots in their garage to fit a practical daily driver and a fire-breathing performance car for the weekends. That's what makes vehicles like the latest Volkswagen Golf R and BMW M235i just about perfect for the average person. Both of these Germans can lope around as a commuter 90 percent of the time and be perfectly comfortable. However, when you want to walk in the door with a big smile on your face, you can take the back roads home and get a real thrill from them.
In his latest short video, Chris Harris from Drive tests these surprisingly comparable German performance cars. Both of them offer buyers in the neighborhood of 300 horsepower, with the BMW winning out with 320 hp. However, the Golf R gets standard all-wheel drive, which is now an option on the M235i. Harris has quite positive things to say about these Europeans, but you're going to have to watch the video to hear just what he thinks.

Behind the Scenes of BMW's 'Drift Mob,' Part 2 [w/video]

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

After spending four days practicing about a dozen drift stunt moves in a parking lot for an upcoming BMW "Drift Mob" internet mini-film, Rhys Millen, Sam Hübinette, Dai Yoshihara, Rich Rutherford, and Conrad Grunewald are finally ready for show time. We are brought to the huge urban traffic circle to see the stunts performed midway through the day to observe for a couple of hours.
The undertaking is massive, with multiple cameras set up, scores of crew members, a helicopter filming from above, a rigged pickup for car-to-car shots, sidewalks lined with security and plenty of curious onlookers, and oh, yeah, a major intersection of a top world city shut down for an entire weekend.
The five drifting legends are nestled in their identical red BMW M235i coupes, which have been modified with special handbrakes but essentially nothing else you can't get on a stock version, and are listening to direction from director Mic Rodgers and stunt coordinator Riley Harper. We're basically given free rein of the set, to shoot the cars, the drivers, and at one point, even hopping in with Yoshihara for one of the admittedly more tame stunts. Even then, the g-forces are so severe that they flip our cameraphone's video recording from landscape mode to portrait. Yes, this is a pretty cool day to be reporting on cars, and as we said during our first installment of our behind the scenes coverage of Drift Mob, we're honored to be the only US media outlet here to tell the tale.
