Up for sale is my 2000 e39 m5. It has been a fantastic car and a garage queen. Here is a complete description of the car. I will be 100% honest with this listing and will not hide anything, because, like me I’m sure you don’t like surprises. I do have the clean title in hand. The car now has window tint of 20%, some of the photos are of when purchased. The video link however is current.

Let’s start with the Exterior; it has the original blue paint that is in great condition, no fading or hazing of any sort. The car does have a few small rock chips (like every other car with 125k+ miles) on the front bumper and a few very small scratches/door dings from careless people walking and parking near the car.  The wheels and tires are in good condition and some have only minor curb rash, which can be fixed by a professional wheel shop for relatively cheap. The tires are in good condition with about 60% tread left.  All the running, head and fog lights work correctly, as well as the other lights around the vehicle. The reverse sensors also work fantastic. It has 20% tint which helps block the sun and annoying truck lights but doesn’t prevent the driver from seeing anything even at night.
Now for the interior, the black and grey seats are in great condition and are not torn or scratched and all the electronics in the seats work as intended. All gauges work great as well as the AC/heat, and sunroof. The dash indicator lights do have the normal issue with pixel failure; however you can still read most messages and indications. The headliner is in fantastic condition. The radio however is a complete failure, for some reason the buttons on the unit have stopped working, however you’re still able to change stations and volume via the steering wheel buttons. I would recommend replacing the head unit to a more updated aftermarket one anyways (BMW e39s are not known for their epic sound systems). The speakers do sound pretty decent for a stock BMW, and wouldn’t need replacing unless you’re a sound hog.

Now for the mechanics; the 400hp v8 is super tight and still has perfect response, the vanos is good and has recently been checked by a local BMW shop. . The clutch is brand new and shifts great. The transmission has no issues and goes into all 6 gears with no problem. The drive-line in general is fantastic, it’s super tight, and handles great. It’s extremely solid, no shakes, rattles or weird noises. This car also will come with a PEAKE code reader that can cancel error codes and reset the oil change interval light. ($250 value for FREE) This car is completely original except the stock mufflers have been removed and professionally replaced with straight pipes from the resonators back. This allows the vehicle to maintain a quiet ride when cruising, but allows for a bit of growl when you get on the gas. It’s one of the best sounding cars I have ever road in, not annoying all the time, but only when you want it to be. I still have the mufflers in storage for the new owner to take, if originality is a must.
A quick overview; I wouldn’t be afraid to jump in this car and drive across country, it has been a fantastic car for the time I have owned it, I’m selling to make room for other toys, I have no doubt that the new owner will fall in love with this machine like I did. I have tried my best to list and video this car and describe its pros and cons to the best of my ability, please don’t hesitate to ask me questions.

Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.

BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coup'e bows at Villa d'Este

Fri, 24 May 2013

The first collaboration between BMW and Pininfarina is this blunt-force two-door called the BMW Pininfarini Gran Lusso Coupe revealed at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. Said to be the "interpretation of a luxurious BMW Coupé as seen through the eyes of Pininfarina," once you get past all of the design-speak, you can focus on the full-bodied and keen-edged missile sitting on 21-inch wheels.
The long wheelbase makes for short overhangs. Up front, BMW's design language gets scraped across a whetstone, everything getting sharper, including the usually round cat's eye headlights that have gone dihedral. Under the hood is a V12, behind the twin-kidney grille in matte-sheen aluminium and high-gloss black. The same aluminum treatment also backs the taillights, the lenses designed to let air flow through them.
Inside is room for four, a cockpit canted toward the driver, Foglizzo leather in black and Tobacco Brown, 48,000-year-old kauri wood from New Zealand, deep pile carpet on the floors, a patterned virgin wool headliner and an "oblong aperture in the roof liner" set off by white LEDs.

2014 BMW 328i xDrive Gran Turismo

Thu, 24 Apr 2014

"The Ultimate Driving Machine" has been BMW's tagline for nearly 40 years. Launched in the 1970s, the marketing campaign was a stroke of genius by ad firm Ammirati & Puris, as the phrase helped differentiate the imported Bavarian cars from their fellow European rivals by subtly pointing out that Mercedes-Benz and Audi were offering luxury models, while BMW was selling sporty and youthful driving dynamics. The campaign worked - some would argue that stands among the most effective ad campaigns ever - and countless Baby Boomers embraced the brand's fun-to-drive image by taking delivery of the company's new models.
BMW still boasts that its vehicles are "The Ultimate Driving Machine" four decades later, but the brand is very different today. It offered just a few model lines in the mid-1970s, and only a handful of vehicles within. In 2014, the automaker offers an exhaustive range comprised of nearly a dozen lines with almost 50 different models. To survive and thrive, BMW has decided it must massively broaden its appeal.
One of the latest arrivals to BMW's ever-growing stable is the 2014 3 Series Gran Turismo. The five-door hatchback is best thought of as a smaller version of the company's 5 Series Gran Turismo built on stretched 3 Series platform that, in the case of this test car, shares the running gear of the 328i xDrive sedan. On paper, the five-passenger vehicle checks all the proper boxes with regards to performance, utility and economy. But does this family-focused 3 Series still deliver driving dynamics that qualify it for the title of Ultimate Driving Machine?
