2002 Bmw M3 61000 Low Miles - Carbon Black Smg Never Driven In Winter on 2040-cars

Year:2002 Mileage:61129
Location:

2002 BMW M3 - No issues! Clean and clear title. First off this car has never been driven when there is salt on the road, I just took it out of storage for the first time today. I usually wait until May but it was a perfect day and I had some free time. There are some minor dings here and there along with paint chips and the bottom of the front bumper has some spider cracking. The car has never been in an accident. It was scraped (front fender) in previous owners driveway. We do have the paperwork for the paint work. There are no mechanical issues at all. I have owned the car for about 4 years now and the only times it's been in the shop are for oil changes. I get at least one a year even though I only drive a couple thousand miles. These are all done at Cantech Automotive. I also have all service records from the previous owner. Last fall I did put new OEM spec rear brake rotors and pads on. I went through the complete seating process and they work great. The fronts still have plenty of life. I spent a lot of time looking for this M3. As you know, a lot of these have been beat on. This one has not. I never drove it hard, and it was clearly not driven hard by the previous owner. When I do store it in the winter I park the tires on cardboard and carpet and also over inflate the tires to avoid flat spots. I fill the gas tank all the way up with ethanol free fuel, I use only ethanol free in this by the way. I put fuel stable in, and put it on a controlled trickle charge (new battery last year). I also put fridge pack baking soda boxes in to avoid dampness. The tires have about 5000 miles on them and have never been patched. They are: Rear: Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 275/30R19XL 96Y SBL Front: 2 Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 245/35R19XL 93Y SBL The car came with the following options: Carbon Black Winter Weather Package - includes heated seats and ski pass through rear seat Navigation 6 Disc Changer - has been removed, still have. It does work great. SMG 6 Speed Transmission Power Seats with Driver Memory Reverse warning sensors I have added the following: Borla Exhaust 140034 Cat-Back System ($1,200) - muffler and tail pipe system. There are about 4,000 miles on it. Included in sale is the original muffler and tailpipes and there are no issues with it. Dice Mediabridge 1500 ($200) - allows bluetooth and ipod hookup right through aux button on radio. This works very well. Has USB hookup, aux 1/8" hookup, and another hookup for USB drive. This hooks up through the CD changer so that has been removed. I only use my ipod anyway. Macht Schnell silicone air intake charge pipe ($90) - Included in sale is the original. BSW Subwoofer box with integrated amplifier ($650) - fits under package tray, drastically improves base. Included in sale are the original woofers. BSW Front Midrange & Tweeter ($250) - Included in sale are the originals. Carbon fiber rear diffuser ($350) - Included in sale is the original LED Rear Taillights ($250) - Included in sale are the originals LED Angel Eyes ($150) - These don't replace anything but look great. Eurotray ($45) - This replaces the cupholder and I use it to store my ipod and the bluetooth hookup. Included in sale is the original cup holder. Avant Garde Type M310 Wheels Hyper Silver ($1000) If you're still with me...only available for showing when it's not raining. No test drives unless you're very serious and the roads are dry, you won't be disappointed. I think this is it. If you have any other questions please just ask.

This is just a repeat of above, but with correct formatting. Ebay won't let me delete the original text.

There is also a ridge in the windshield at about the end of where the wiper blade would travel, it's faint but it seems like the metal end may have bent under at one time and scored it.

This Or That: 1980 Oldsmobile 442 vs. 1989 BMW 635CSi [w/poll]

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

The last time I roped a coworker into an automotive debate, I lost. Resoundingly, I might add. Still, 2,385 voters chose to cast their lots for the Fiat 500 Abarth, as opposed to 5,273 choosing the Ford Fiesta ST, and so I can rest easy in the knowledge that at least 30 percent of you, dear readers, see things my way. I still like to think we have more fun, too.
My loss in the first round of our This or That series, in which two Autoblog editors pick sides on any given topic and then attempt to explain why the other is completely wrong, didn't stop me from picking another good-natured fight, this time with Senior Editor Seyth Miersma. Last time, our chosen sides were eerily similar in design, albeit quite different in actual execution. This time, our vehicular peculiarities couldn't seemingly fall any further from one another: A 1980 Oldsmobile 442 wouldn't seem to match up in comparison to a 1989 BMW 635CSi.
How did we come up with such disparate contenders? Simple, really. Seyth and I mutually agreed to choose a car that's currently for sale online. It had to be built and sold in the 1980s, and it had to be a coupe. The price cap was set at $10,000. The fruits of our searching labors will henceforth be disputed, with Seyth on the side of the Germans, and myself arguing in favor of the Rocket Olds. Am I setting myself up for another lopsided loss?

History of BMW touring cars looks splendid in Adrenalin trailer

Wed, 15 Oct 2014

More high-quality documentaries about the history of motorsports are always welcome. When thinking about racing, we generally focus on moving forward to go a little faster or shave a tenth of a second off a lap. There's not much time to look backward. It's too bad, because there are so many fantastic stories from the sport's history. Thankfully, an upcoming doc is taking on the challenge of telling some of these tales, and it looks like a movie not to miss, especially for BMW fans.
Adrenalin - The BMW Touring Car Story mixes high-quality, vintage footage with new interviews from many of the drivers of these machines to craft what looks like a fantastic experience. Covering the period from the '60s to the modern DTM era, just the trailer shows racing from the 2002, 3.0 CSL and of course the E30 chassis M3 of the '80s. You also get to hear from legends behind the wheel like Hans-Joachim Stuck, Johnny Cecotto and Joachim Winkelhock telling their stories.
Adrenalin comes out in November on DVD, Blu-Ray and on-demand. Check out its trailer above for a taste at what it's aiming for. The documentary definitely looks like one to watch.

Toyota passes BMW as most valuable car brand

Tue, 21 May 2013

An annual market study of the strongest brands across various industries has seen Toyota leapfrog BMW as the world's most valuable automotive brand. Toyota's 2013 brand value rose to $24.5 billion, up 12 percent versus 2012 numbers according to market research company Millward Brown's BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands list. BMW's value fell slightly; down by 2 percent to a total of $24 billion.
Mercedes-Benz finished in third place in the automotive category, up 11 percent from 2012 for a valuation of $18 billion. Honda ($12.4 billion, down 2 percent) and Nissan ($10.2 billion, up 3 percent) rounded out the top five for the category. Volkswagen was the only other auto brand that finished in the top 100 overall, in 100th place. Audi made the greatest percentage gain over 2012, up 18 percent to $5.5 billion, but finished outside of the top 100.
Technology companies dominated the overall list, with Apple, Google and IBM ranking one through three. Couture brand Prada was 2013's biggest gainer, rising by 63 percent over 2012.
