Up on the auction block is a 1988 BMW 735i with an Erebuni wide body kit installed and a 5 speed manual conversion completed. All the hard work was done. New clutch, flywheel, slave and clutch master cylinders, pilot bearing, and pressure plate. Over 1000 miles put on the vehicle after the conversion and the transmission shifts flawlessly. The true mileage of the vehicle is unknown. The dash was replaced with one from a wrecked vehicle which shows that vehicle's mileage but I have the original dash that will come with the vehicle, it just needs a new circuit board. The car starts right up and runs great. The new Jersey inspection is good till 2014. This is an excellent project for someone who wants a car they can drive while they fix it up.

The car has it's problems like the driver's seat back twisting when you move it back and forth, the power mirrors don't work, needs 2 abs wheel sensors, and recently I've been getting a groaning/rubbing noise coming from the rear of the car, I was told it was either a rear wheel bearing or the driveshaft center bearing. That's pretty much all of the main defects with the car besides the stress cracks on the fiberglass parts of the body and paint chips...Any questions? Thanks for looking....

BMW rolls out new M4 safety car for DTM

Mon, 05 May 2014

Ever since revealing the M4 on nearly five months ago, BMW has been hard at work getting its new muscle coupe out on the track. It's made a touring-car version to compete in DTM and a safety car to set the pace at MotoGP races, and now it's combined both into a new safety car for DTM as well.
The ninth M4 on the DTM grid is based on the production version, but fitted with numerous upgrades over the course of a two-month conversion process. For starters, it's been equipped with nearly exterior component from the M Performance Parts catalog, including the quad-tipped exhaust, front splitter, rear spoiler and diffuser, blacked-out grille, special mirror caps, side sills... the works. But that's not the end of the story.
BMW M GmbH also gutted the interior, removing the rear bench and replacing it with a roll cage. It's got a pair of Recaro racing buckets with Schroth harnesses, plus special LED emergency lighting, radio communication system and, of course, special livery (albeit nowhere near as cool as the MotoGP one) to distinguish it as the official safety car when it makes its debut at the Nürburgring on August 17.

She's just a girl... who's an E28 fanatic

Tue, 02 Apr 2013

Ashley Rodriguez has a thing for the BMW E28. The amateur train photographer has owned over 15 of the cars in her brief lifetime, and says she's attracted to the old 5 Series because of how rare they are. All told, she's owned every variation of the E28 with the exception of the 2.4td, and the crew from Petrolicious recently stopped by to train their lenses on her most recent acquisition: a lovely M535i. The site's latest video, Rare Things, takes a closer look at just what draws Rodriguez to the E28 and how her passion for the cars has evolved over the years.
As usual, Petrolicious serves up plenty of gorgeous footage of the vintage German sedan, and anyone who's ever harbored an obsession over any one particular model can certainly hear a few chords ring true in Rodriguez's words. Check out the clip below to see what we mean.

BMW hires Ferrari chief engineer Fedeli

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

There's going to be a little bit more Prancing Horse in some future BMWs because the Bavarian brand is hiring Ferrari chief engineer Roberto Fedeli to join the company in November. Fedeli's new position is still somewhat of a mystery though, and he reportedly might be lending his talents to the high performance M division or possibly even Rolls-Royce. When asked by Automotive News Europe, BMW said that it "currently can't say what his role will be."
Regardless of his new job, Fedeli was a big get for BMW because of his strong résumé. He has been with Ferrari since 1988 and led the engineering for the famous Italian automaker's vehicles since 2007. Fedeli tendered his resignation in September at around the same time that chairman Luca di Montezemolo announced his decision to leave the company. However, Ferrari told ANE that there was no connection between the two events.
