This is an all original, low mileage BMW 750IL. The car was owned by an elderly person and was very rarely driven. It was always maintained properly, and was stored in winters. The 44k miles are original. All body panels are original, and the paint is all original. There is NO rust anywhere on the vehicle, meaning body and underside. It is clean! The V-12 engine runs amazingly smooth and quiet with plenty of power.
Even though the AutoCheck says 4 owners, it is more like a 2 owner car. I purchased it from an estate, and it was explained to me that it was originally purchased in Virginia by an elderly woman who rarely drove it. When she passed away, her brother took possession of it (the title transfer from from VA to Wisconsin in 2003). He was also elderly and in poor health, so he did not drive it much either. It then went through the estate in July of this summer (2013), and then I purchased it from the estate. The important stuff: -The car runs 100%, smooth, powerful, no burning oil, no overheating, etc… I would not hesitate to recommend a fly and drive to the purchaser. -Drives straight, tight, and solid. No loose steering, no shakes, shimmies, or wobbles, no bouncing, no clunking. Hugs the road like a BMW should. -Body is straight, no accidents, no paintwork, no replaced body panels, all electrics work. -Earlier this summer it was given a full check over with a $3400 bill (mainly just replacing a few electric parts). -I just did about $5,000 worth of maintenance (per the local BMW dealer's estimate). -Tires on the included 15” factory wheels have about 75% tread left, though they are older. The 17" wheels shown need new tires. I will include both sets with the purchase of the car at the buy it now price. -No warning lights, system check errors, etc... All systems functioning normally.
Recent Mainenance: -Water pump (and all o-rings) -Thermostat -Fan clutch -Fan blades and shroud -New belt -New belt tensioners and tensioner struts (2 each) -New radiator hoses -New coolant expansion tank -New coolant level sensor -Cooling system filled with Genuine BMW blue coolant. -New windshield spray nozzles -New front struts, boots, bump stops -New rear pitman arms -New rear sway bar links -New battery

BMW i5 could get Toyota-sourced hydrogen power
Tue, 18 Nov 2014It's starting to feel like the automotive landscape is right on the cusp of a boom in hydrogen-fueled vehicles. After all, the Toyota FCV is nearly ready, Volkswagen is readying a fuel cell concept for this week's Los Angeles Auto Show and Hyundai already sells its Tucson Fuel Cell. The next big name to add to that list might be BMW, as the company's co-development deal with Toyota starts to bear fruit.
According to Autocar, BMW may use a version of the fuel cell system from the Toyota FCV in the future i5. As part of its eco-oriented i sub-brand, the i5 is expected to be a stretched version of the i3 (pictured above) with extra rear legroom and cargo space. It's unclear at the moment whether a battery-powered pure electric powertrain will also be available. If accurate, then the rumor could give the Bavarian brand a counterattack against Mercedes-Benz' planned fuel cell vehicle in 2017.
BMW and Toyota first signed the memorandum of understanding to co-develop fuel cells, lightweight technology and a sports car back in 2012, and they made the arrangement official in late 2013. So far, few details on the progress of the work have been disclosed, but the performance model has been rumored to use a front-engine, all-wheel drive layout with supercapacitors.
Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo torquing its way toward Frankfurt
Mon, 09 Sep 2013Few tuners benefit from the kind of factory support that Alpina does, giving the pseudo-aftermarket firm nearly as much official status as BMW's own M division. And this is its latest product.
Set to debut, as expected, at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week is the new Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo, which you can consider, for all intents and purposes, the diesel M3 that BMW never built. While the outgoing D3 (which was Alpina's best-selling model) used a four-cylinder engine, Autocar reports that the new model packs a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo inline-six diesel to drive a respectable 345 horsepower but a mammoth 516 pound-feet of torque to either the rear wheels or all four through the optional availability of xDrive. (European buyers will also be able to choose between sedan and wagon bodystyles.)
The engine is the same as you'd find in the XD3 and D5 (Alpina's diesel performance versions of the X3 and 5 Series, respectively), but in the lighter 3 Series form can propel the D3 Bi-Turbo up to 62 miles per hour in 4.6 seconds and on to an Autobahn-crunching top speed of 173 mph. And as per Alpina tradition, visual cues are minimal, with a subtly optimized aero kit and 19- or available 20-inch alloy wheels. Unfortunately, the 7 Series-based B7 is the only Alpina we get on this side of the Atlantic, but an oil-drenched performance enthusiast can dream.
