Car is in good running condition, having just completed an uneventful 1600 mile trip from Florida to Canada.
I purchased the car from the original Florida owner in March, 2014. He had purchased the car new in Germany and imported it in 1985 to the USA. This model was not available in 1984 in North America- European sales only.
I am willing to drive the vehicle to the USA border for US buyer willing to import the vehicle into the USA.
I imported the car from the USA to Canada in April,2014. It is simple for you to import it back to the USA. At 30 years old it is considered a classic and hence has easy movement back and forth across our borders.I recommend you hire a customs broker from the Alexandria Bay/1000 islands area to represent you by getting the paperwork in order for you. Once you have the import permit sorted out provide me the details and I can then drive the car across the border for you to Clayton NY on route 12 or to Watertown where you can then arrange for your own transport within the USA. The car is presently located about 1 hour from the border. I have done this before within the past 12 months. No issues. You have to import it. I cannot export it. Trivial difference but important to note it. So, you must pay for the vehicle in total , then arrange with a customs broker to import it. The broker (and you) will then provide me with the paperwork to allow me to drive the car across the border on your behalf as the new owner and importer. I am simply acting as the transporter at that point since you own the car and are now importing it to the USA. I am willing to transport it to Clayton or Watertown.

Toyota passes BMW as most valuable car brand

Tue, 21 May 2013

An annual market study of the strongest brands across various industries has seen Toyota leapfrog BMW as the world's most valuable automotive brand. Toyota's 2013 brand value rose to $24.5 billion, up 12 percent versus 2012 numbers according to market research company Millward Brown's BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands list. BMW's value fell slightly; down by 2 percent to a total of $24 billion.
Mercedes-Benz finished in third place in the automotive category, up 11 percent from 2012 for a valuation of $18 billion. Honda ($12.4 billion, down 2 percent) and Nissan ($10.2 billion, up 3 percent) rounded out the top five for the category. Volkswagen was the only other auto brand that finished in the top 100 overall, in 100th place. Audi made the greatest percentage gain over 2012, up 18 percent to $5.5 billion, but finished outside of the top 100.
Technology companies dominated the overall list, with Apple, Google and IBM ranking one through three. Couture brand Prada was 2013's biggest gainer, rising by 63 percent over 2012.

Europe's BMW 1 Series hatch caught looking fresh faced

Sat, 23 Aug 2014

Hey, remember the BMW 1 Series? Yes, German brand's successors to the US-market coupe and convertible have one-upped the old car to wear the 2 Series designation now, but in other markets, our No. 1 crush still lives on, and as evidenced in these spy shots, the entry-level hatch appears to be undergoing a modest facelift.
We've spotted prototypes of the refreshed 1 Series before, with the majority of the car's changes focused around the front fascia. This time around, we're seeing the three-door variant, with wheels seemingly fitting of a Sport or even M Sport trim.
Of course, this One's not for US, as the small BMW isn't slated to come to our market anytime soon. Click through the gallery above to see what we're missing.

Giles Taylor succeeds Ian Cameron as head of Rolls-Royce design

Thu, 28 Jun 2012

Back in the day, a Rolls-Royce looked pretty much the same as a Bentley, but with a different grille. Once BMW took over Rolls-Royce, however, it was faced with the challenge of visually separating itself from its former sister brand. And most would agree that it did so pretty well. But its cars have looked pretty much the same ever since. What Rolls-Royce needs, then, is a bit of a design shake-up. And that's just what this latest appointment could bring.
After a baker's dozen years as design director at Rolls-Royce (and twenty years designing for the BMW Group altogether), Ian Cameron is retiring from his post. In his place, Rolls-Royce has named Giles Taylor as its new director of design. In his new capacity, Taylor will report directly to BMW Group chief designer Adrian van Hooydonk, and be responsible for all design matters related to the Rolls-Royce brand and its products.
Taylor was promoted to the role from his previous position as head of exterior design for the marque, a position he's held for barely more than a year. We'll be eagerly watching to see what the veteran British car designer has in store for the future of Rolls-Royce. In the meantime you can read the full announcement below.
