1988 BMW 635 CSI   ...Black on Grey leather.

selling this nice, smooth, very strong ride...................LEGENDARY SHARK NOSE
I have 2 of this model and an 88 M6 MODEL too! so far I owned 7 since 1981
so you can tell I am very well familiar with these cars ..it is a love affair

I have taken care of this car so much since I purchased it over 2 years ago ..
I did as much as any hard core BMW  loving enthusiast will do .
first I want you to be very very well sure of that this car runs great ,
and as you see it looks very good too..but no matter how good the pictures are !?
always the reality is different a lot or a bet !every one knows that and agrees!

this car turns heads every where I go in it ! I get so many thumps up and compliments!
like I am in a very exotic car !!! and indeed I am         IT IS AN EXOTIC CAR   regardless of the value
and it was branded and called the best looking car BMW ever made until the 90's hands down
and still over power the Z models looks..

'

pros :

IF YOU DO NOT SEE IT LISTED PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME IT IS INCLUDED OR IT IS IN A FINE CONDITION..

The car starts right up and runs very smooth..I have never had an overheat issue in it!
I changed the radiator for other issue!!
nor ever had a major mechanical problem!?just regular maintenance and more .
I included a list of what I did to it since I had it almost more than 2 years a go.
. it has never had any smoke or leaky valve guides or  any leakage of any kind ..
it has that famous Very clean strong  motor  the one it was called the  (BULLET PROOF)  engine
combined renowned Moto-Ronic trans that shifts very smooth.
the Car drives tight and handles very well.

These cars are the European muscle cars of the 80's only more smooth and solid.

The body is in excellent original condition with only 1 minor ding.Look at the pictures!?
No rust of any kind ...only 2 surface peeling from rain water !
the leather is Nice and clean but shows age !
All the trim is in good nice shape.
Factory bumper plastic still in great shape.
underneath the car still in great shape and has no issues  !.
Power sunroof works great. Power windows go up and down just fine .
All the switches are in great functioning condition ..power lock works great ..
both the power seats work great..
Both Doors and panels  leather is  in  excellent shape ..
just  the back of the Driver's door local handle place where it's held to get shut !
and it is very hidden too !you have to really come very close to see the back of it
as well as the carpet. The leather seats look  very good as you see in the pictures !
...they just only show regular usage with creases but no rips or tears !

I have changed and fixed  the following parts and more :

New Fuel Sending unit
New fuel pump
New fuel filter
New fuel pressure regulator
New thermostat &Coolant flush , bleed the system
New (idle control valve)
New Battery
New fresh Oil Change
New fuel filter,
New radiator ,
NEW belt
NEW fan clutch
New Air Filter
New ALPINE CD removable face sound system ..the original Radio was bad and not working at all ..
New whole front steering suspension (both tie rods and center link ) + Front end alignment..
New fresh complete 20-50 oil change  ..
new front and back brake pads and serviced the master cylinder Brake system..
New filter for the power steering pump and whole service and fresh fluid

I tried my best to convey  but please do not hesitate to ask more questions ?
ask for  more pictures if you wish ?!    I do not mind  take more and send them to you if you send me your e mail ?

{{{{cons:}}}}}

this car just only needs a little TLC and very minor things to be a real nice classic 635 CSI   shark!

you can tell exactly what it needs cosmetically by looking at the pictures ..

the driver's side seat cushion only  has the biggest issue ! just a separation in the stitching  !!.
the Dash has only 2 small unnoticeable cracks from the Florida sun ..look at the pics..
All enthusiasts know that no car of this era and in particular this  model  have ever escaped this issue !
except very very few !! of course the ones that were kept inside a garage or covered almost at all time !
or the ones who covered the dash only and kept it cool at all time from the start since they were new!
except those  who lived in a cold climate most of the time and they did not see hardly any heat !

the paint is in very good shiny condition on the sides of the car !
but on top of the car it got faded a little
but  only on top of the car  ( the center of hood ,the top of the car ,  the center of trunk  )
it  got dulled out by FLORIDA sun !
I was told a good experienced paint man who can do a wet sanding can bring the shine back
the driver seat cushion needs re stitching job
or just new fixing ..I was quoted $150 !
I was going to fix it but I wanted to wait on the final selling price ?!if its fair ?!

you must know that these cars have never changed since 1977 and they are from the 70's  Auto design !!

Back then they used the polyurethane for rubber parts as well as plastic parts!
instead of the new synthetic rubber and plastic that stands for high temps !!
they did not use the new technology material back then yet !?
because it was not available ..until the 90's
so those dashes and other trim parts material kept cracking and twisting easily !!
if you had them exposed for a prolonged periods of time to the sunshine heat...
when they start to cool they crack and become deformed  !
that's why they needed to be covered or kept away in the shade from the direct sun shine heat ?! ..

The in dash      (( front fan blower switch ))    works only on the first low speed but the rear A/C switch and fan both work great !!.
.currently I am looking for that front in dash fan switch
the A/C works great !!  why I know that ?  ...because I charged the system when I bought the car and it got very cold then !
but sadly it got warm over a month period..!!!
since I owned so many of same  6 series model ! they almost all had the same problem over and over ......! ....    throughout the years,!!
I learned  and become to know that it was a lingering problem in the 80's for  all 3-5-6-7 series's!!
and still with the most modern new models too !!?.... you can research this matter and find that out for your self ?

I guess the BMW German makers either did not care about A/C  !
to design it good ?!   .....or even  to improve it over the years ?!!
OR .....they might thought that it does not get's very hot out side Germany back then ?!
or it is the same weather temperature all over the world as in Germany   ?!

So I got used to this issue and did not care for any of  A/C any more ! if it was or was not working any way !

I did enjoyed and still enjoy and love those cars the way they are  any way !
..they bring back  great memories !!
I drove these cars only on the weekends !...
this one it is in a great running condition I would not be afraid to use it all the time ?!
and it could be used as a daily driver !

These cars are a great investment and will only go up in value in the very near future.
You just don't see any model car like these  on the streets or roads any more
I  just do not want to keep spending any more money on it  !
I have 2 more 6 model classic series models to worry about and do that on!!!
I wish I could keep this car !? but right now I don't have the space nor the time

 .

M-fographic breaks down the history of BMW performance machinery

Fri, 18 Oct 2013

Few characters carry the kind of clout among performance enthusiasts as the letter M. For 35 years now, that one letter has adorned over 300,000 BMWs, each tuned to deliver a higher degree of performance than the stock models on which they're based.
The M division has worked up nearly 100 different models over the past third of a century, which can leave even the most expert among Bimmer fanatics bewildered. Fortunately British auto loan service Carfinance247 has commissioned this handy infographic to make sense of it all, and you can check it out below to see what the letter M really stands for.

Watch man destroy his M6 'lemon' with a sledgehammer and ax

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

Just to be clear, the owner of this BMW M6 isn't ready for another one. He and his friend destroyed the V10-powered coupe in anger at the entrance to the Frankfurt Motor Show in a decidedly public fashion. Bild and GT Spirit report that the owner was angry over mysterious quality and reliability issues that he claims BMW wasn't able to fix. What we have here, folks, is claimed to be a very expensive lemon.
As the story goes, owner Pourmohseni Hadi bought the 2007 M6 in 2008, and five years later, he is still complaining about mysterious vibrations, rattles and severe jolts during gear changes - the latter he says have caused passengers to become nauseous. The car was taken to several BMW repair shops in Italy and Hadi says he he has written a letter to the automaker about his issues, but the car was never fixed and the letter unanswered, he claims. What we don't know is how many miles the car has been driven and when all these problems started happening. The situation reminds us of a certain Lamborghini Gallardo from a couple years back.
While we understand Hadi's frustration, perhaps an M6 just doesn't suit his tastes. After all, we'd be lying if we said a perfectly functioning M6 of this generation wasn't bumpy over uneven surfaces and wouldn't make some passengers nauseous, with its stiffly sprung suspension and dizzying 500-horsepower V10. Anyone wanna bet his M6 was equipped with one of BMW's notoriously abrupt SMG single-clutch gearboxes?

Dinan S3-R BMW 1M Coupe

Wed, 02 Apr 2014

I nearly shed tears a few years ago upon learning that BMW was only planning to produce a very limited quantity of its then-new 2011 1 Series M Coupe. In simplest terms, the two-door was a 1 Series fitted with a modified version of the automaker's twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, and the running gear (gearbox, driveshaft, axles) from contemporary M3 models. It was also a return to form for the brand. Aggressively short and stubby in stature but packing telltale flared wheel arches that hinted at its potential, the four-seater was a spiritual successor to the original (and much loved) E30 M3 from decades earlier.
After spending a day with the original high-performance 1 at New York's Monticello Motor Club, I declared, "The little coupe with the big flares is old-school retro cool and deliciously fun to drive ... the new BMW 1 Series M Coupe doesn't target boy-racers, it targets enthusiasts." Yet sadly - and despite strong demand - BMW limited the model's production to just one year. All told, only 740 units made it to the States, and each was gobbled up at a starting price of $46,135, a price tag history will show to be a bargain.
Since I had little hope of even driving one again, I deliberately pushed all memories of BMW's 1 Series M Coupe from my mind - until my phone rang recently. On the other end was a representative from Dinan Engineering who wanted to know if I would be interested in driving the company's new S3-R BMW 1M. A quick Google search revealed it to be a heavily modified version of the discontinued 1 Series M Coupe. As if they needed an answer...
