This is an imported E21 323i with all OEM Alpina appearance package.  The headlights, grills, bumpers, emblems, exhaust, wheels, brakes, shocks (Bilstein), camber settings, steering wheel, shifter, shift boot, seats, differential gearing, rear finish panel . . . are all BMW OEM Alpina accessories.  The only thing lacking is the motor & transmission.

The undercarriage is mint; best I have ever seen out of my personal cars ever owned.  You can still see blue in many places underneath & there are no worn or rusty areas.  The body is in similar condition with nice clear coat, no fading or peeling anywhere; no mismatched or blended panels.  Chrome is all very very nice, no need for even chrome polish - shines very strong around all windows, bumpers, & moldings.  The front kidney grill could be redone, but is only dull & may merely need to be polished.  Other than this, the exterior does have a bubble forming by the quarter window smaller than a penny & there is a stress mark that won't show up in photos on the passenger side front fender.

The interior is Recaro reclining blue seats upon an entire blue interior, all manual options with no defects outside of radio has been removed.  Cabin has never been smoked in during my or previous two owners.  There are 2 cracks in the dash about an inch long each, but not unsightly looking.  Carpet is extremely clean, as well as all knobs & accessories.

Suspension is very solid; very! with no worn bushings, noises, or kinks; handling is very fun in this light of a car & the exhaust is very BMW exotic in my opinion.  It can easily be related to an E46 M3 with full Supersprint.  If you don't believe me, look up E21 Alpina on Youtube for reference of how vicious this exhaust sounds - always gets compliments & looks, but never beat on.

Car pulls strong through every gear, brakes are secure feeling, body & interior is something to be very proud of for given age, & actual milage is unknown.  Many things have been replaced throughout the car during my 3-4yr. ownership: all headlights, brakes, control arm bushings, strut tower mounts, timing belt, water pump, tensioner, pulleys, intake gasket, crank sensor, O2 sensor, slave clutch cylinder, battery before winter this year, oil change this month with OEM synthetic, rear trailing arm bushings, guibo center driveshaft support, & more that I cannot think of at the moment.

I have driven this car to many events on the East Coast & Midwest area including up to Minnesota, Delaware, Michigan, & down to Virginia, Tail of the Dragon, Georgia, Florida, Kansas, as well as Maryland, etc.  Never missed a beat & feels healthy at 85-90mph on the expressway.

The car has received placement at vintage shows, been acknowledged in PBMW magazine twice, Eurotuner, and Klutch Republic Magazine.

Only thing this car would need is the front Alpina splitter to be complete & tires sometime mid-summer.  I am only selling because I lost storage for this car & am scared to leave it on the street as I rent a 2nd level apartment home with others living/ parking in the same driveway.  I do not want to see it get ruined in any way, but trust me, I certainly do love this car & realize they were never produced stateside, so finding another one as clean & OEM as this in such a stunning Alpina blue color with matching interior & worry free is sure to never happen.

Thank you for looking. I pray this car sells to an appreciative european enthusiast.

BMW X1 testing is underway

Thu, 10 Oct 2013

It was just a few weeks ago that we got our first glimpse of the next-generation BMW X1, riding around on a flatbed. Now, we have the first batch of images of the small crossover moving under its own steam.
Like the previous round of photos, BMW's psychedelic camouflage is on hand to obscure sheetmetal details, but our intrepid spies still managed to discover a bit about the new X1. It's internal code-name will be F48, and it will sit on the same platform as the next-generation Mini and the BMW 1 Series GT. And for those keeping track at home, those are both front-drive platforms.
The reasoning for the X1's new layout, though, is understandable. Front-wheel drive is more space efficient and affordable, which are kind of big deals to customers. The next X1 won't be limited to its front wheels, though, as BMW's xDrive system is almost a certainty on higher-end trims.

Ward's reveals annual 10 Best Engines list for 2013

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

Ward's Auto has released its annual 10 Best Engines award winners. The 2013 list covers the full width and breadth of the internal combustion spectrum, from a spate of efficient four-cylinders to the most powerful production V8 on the planet. As always, the entries must be available in a production vehicle in the first quarter of 2013 with an MSRP of less than $55,000. The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 from the Audi S5 held on for the fourth consecutive year, and BMW earned two spots on the list with its turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and turbo 3.0-liter inline-six.
Ford pulled in two awards for its 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and and the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 from the Shelby GT500. Honda matched BMW and Ford with two wins of its own. Wards awarded the 2.4-liter four-cylinder from the Honda Accord Sport as well as the 3.5-liter V6 from the Honda Accord. Chrysler, General Motors and Subaru each garnered a spot on the list as well for the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500, the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the Cadillac ATS and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder the Subaru BRZ, respectively. BMW makes X7 in Spartanburg official

Fri, 28 Mar 2014

BMW has made it official - there will be a flagship crossover called X7, and it will be built right here in the US of A. The announcement was made today, confirming rumors of the new model at the Spartanburg, SC factory that broke earlier this week.
"Plant Spartanburg was built to enhance and expand the BMW lineup, underscoring the BMW Group commitment to the United States" said Dr. Norbert Reithofer, chairman of the BMW board of management in a statement. "In addition to the X3, X5, X6, and the new X4, we are today announcing another all-new, larger X model to be manufactured exclusively at this plant for our world markets: the X7."
BMW will spend $1 billion by 2016 upgrading its South Carolina factory, which already produces the X3, X5 and X6. The plant is currently capable of producing 300,000 units per year, but with the big investment from BMW, capacity will climb to 450,000 units. 800 jobs will be added as a result of the investment and new and upcoming models.
