BMW 318ti with 111,332 original miles. The vehicle has a 5 speed manual transmission. I have owned it for about 11years. Have put less than 1k miles on it in the last 5years. Recently it was broken into and was damaged.

The good:
Low original miles, starts right up! Leather/cloth seats are in GREAT shape. The engine, clutch, and  transmition all work great. Power windows, locks etc.

The bad:
Needs a lot of body work, someone scraped the side of the car when it was parked in front of my house a few years back and drove off. Recently it was broken into and the radio, visors, wheels/tires, shift knob where stolen also the door panels where removed but not taken some of the "tabs" did get broken. I purchased some 5 series wheels off craigslist to get it off the ground but the back two are rubbing pretty bad. I was told they would fit if they had smaller tires installed and/or spacers. Also the driver glass window is broken out from the break-in.

The car starts and runs but Will Need To Be Towed because the back two wheels are rubbing and there is a cracked tail light also it will need a tune up with power steering/brake fluids as its been sitting up.

This would make a great parts car for the interior/seats and engine/transmition etc or a great project for someone who is good at fixing cars. I tried to take detailed pictures but please let me know if you have any questions.

She's just a girl... who's an E28 fanatic

Tue, 02 Apr 2013

Ashley Rodriguez has a thing for the BMW E28. The amateur train photographer has owned over 15 of the cars in her brief lifetime, and says she's attracted to the old 5 Series because of how rare they are. All told, she's owned every variation of the E28 with the exception of the 2.4td, and the crew from Petrolicious recently stopped by to train their lenses on her most recent acquisition: a lovely M535i. The site's latest video, Rare Things, takes a closer look at just what draws Rodriguez to the E28 and how her passion for the cars has evolved over the years.
As usual, Petrolicious serves up plenty of gorgeous footage of the vintage German sedan, and anyone who's ever harbored an obsession over any one particular model can certainly hear a few chords ring true in Rodriguez's words. Check out the clip below to see what we mean.

BMW to announce location of new plant in Mexico in July

Tue, 20 May 2014

Volkswagen manufactures in Mexico. Soon Audi will as well, and Mercedes-Benz is said to be working on a deal to assemble some of its cars at a Nissan plant in Mexico too. That leaves BMW out of the mix of German automakers building cars South of the Border, but that may soon be rectified, as well.
According to Automotive News, the Bavarian automaker is preparing to announce the site of its first Mexican assembly plant as soon as July, now just two months away. BMW already builds cars for North American consumption at its plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, but has reportedly been keen to capitalize on cheaper labor and the benefits of the North American Free Trade Agreement to supply vehicles to the United States and Canada especially.
When BMW does announce the site of the plant - reportedly narrowed down to either Hidalgo or San Luis Potosi - it is tipped to work its way up to 100,000 vehicles per year at the new location, potentially to include the 3 Series as well as smaller, front-drive models, including Minis.

Mini JCW Paceman vs. BMW M135i in family faceoff

Mon, 15 Apr 2013

Over the last year, we've had the chance to drive two of the most exciting hatchbacks in the BMW family - the BMW M135i and the Mini Paceman John Cooper Works - but Autocar has managed to get the two corporate cousins together for a head-to-head comparison. Just like our initial impressions of the Paceman JCW, Autocar has little to complain about this new 215-horsepower hatchback... until it begins to factor in the faster, better-mannered and similarly priced M135i.
Despite laying down an extra 100 hp and delivering a 0-60 time that is almost two seconds quicker, the M135i carries the same price tag of 29,535 pounds in the UK; US pricing for the Paceman starts at $36,200, while it still isn't even clear if the US will be getting the M135i. Even more surprising is the fact that the Paceman falls short of the M135i in regards to rear seat and cargo volume, and just barely squeaks out a win in the fuel economy department. Scroll down to watch the BMW versus Mini hot hatch battle.
