Up for auction is my 1989 BMW 325I Automatic Convertable.  I purchased this car 3 years ago from a professional body mechanic who had recently completed the restoration work and was using it as a daily driver.  He painted the car the original Cirrus Blue, Recovered the seats Glove Soft Tan Leather, Installed a New Top with New Seals and Stretcher Strips, and a Sony AM/FM/CD player with MP3 input.  He also replaced Timing Belt & Tensioner, Water Pump, Radiator, Belts, Tires, All 4 High Performance Brake Rotors and Brake Pads, High Performace Ignition Wires, Spark Plugs, and K & N High Performance Air Cleaner.

I use this car as weekend car and vacation car (several trips to Florida) and have put about 10,000 miles on it since then.  This car is a very nice daily (or fun car) and everything works as it should. Cold A/C, Cruise Control, Central Power Locking, All Lights, Wipers w/ Delay, etc.

*The title on the car shows miles "exempt" which iscustomary on car registered in Gerogia that is over 15 years old.  The odometer read 135,013 mile when I purchased it.  Recently I made the mistake of pushing the trip odometer reset  while the car was moving and the odometer quit working when the trip odometer reset to 0 it now shows 142,604 miles.  The repair for this is to install new odometer gears which are available but not been replaced.  You will notice the Third Brake Light was not reinstalled on the truck when the car was painted...the previous owner thought it was ugly and I have to agree.

BMW X4 slantback is nearly here

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

Another day, another new BMW spied. Sometimes it feels like Bimmer is developing so many new models that in the future, every buyer will get their own unique car. The latest one spied is the upcoming BMW X4 that was launched as a concept nearly a year ago. The Bavarians still see a need to camouflage the rear end of its prototypes, though.
As you can see, the production version is hewing very closely to the concept. If you peer around the camo, the headlights have the same shape, but the foglights are a new addition. The rear roofline seems quite similar to concept, too, but the back end is still somewhat more mysterious because the masking and dirt hide a lot. Still, it doesn't seem like the production model is going to be radically different from the concept based on the previous test cars we spied in the past. It also strikes us as very similar in size and form to the already available 3 Series Gran Turismo, with which it is expected to share a great deal.
Our wait might not be very long to see the midsize German CUV undisguised, because the X4's debut is rumored for the New York Auto Show on April 16 with a reveal as early as March 14.

Forza Motorsport profiles courageous paralyzed racer

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

It's easy to look at racing video games as just a time waster or a hobby. In reality, though, they're often powerful tools for aspiring racers to learn tracks, race craft and how to set up a car in an easily accessible, risk-free environment. We aren't just talking about proper computer-based sims, like iRacing. Console-based racers like Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo provide a test bed for racers of all sorts.
For Mario Bonfante, Jr., a former motorcycle racer that was involved in a brutal accident that left him in a wheelchair with only limited use of his arms, Forza is a bit more. It allows him to perfect the setup of his personal racecar, a heavily modified E46 BMW M3, complete with hand controls.
Check out Mario's inspiring story.

2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe now more expensive than when new

Sun, 06 Apr 2014

At the end of the day, your friendly Autoblog editors are car guys, just like you. So, while we might have more of an opportunity to test some of the most interesting vehicles on the new car scene than does your average gear head, we can still be found whiling away those long afternoon hours looking at used cars and thinking about what could be.
Just the other day, we had a vivid reminder about one of our dream cars from the very recent past, the 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe. If you didn't catch it, Michael Harley had a great time testing and reviewing the new Dinan S3-R version of the car, which throws an impressively engineered turbo and suspension tune on a BMW that was damn near perfect out of the box.
In the Comments section of that review, a few savvy Autoblog readers pointed out that our estimated price for a used donor car, set at $50,000, was low. Odd, we thought, as the car retailed for less than $50k ($46,135) when it was new in 2011. So we started checking around.
