Paint job is new and in great condition. Dash board is perfect, normally they are cracked. The dash is not completely screwed in on one point but just needs a couple screws and your good to go. Other issues, the glove box wont close because the dash is loose but when that is screw in it will be fine. This care is super rare, especially with the engine, and in the condition it is in with mint paint and no rust. There is a little chip in the Paint right above the left tire on the underside of the quarter panel that isnt very noticeable cause the cars a little low/ tires are a little big so it rubs on bad bumps. The clutch has a loose barring or plate something so it sometimes makes a noise but I have been told its an easy fix. Shifts and drives great just sometimes theres a noise when in neutral."

I am selling my baby because I need money. 1985 3 series BMW e30 with a s52 engine from a 96 m3 in it. This car is ridiculously fast, I have beaten brand new S4's in it. She is in great condition, with a few minor cosmetic things that need to be done. I would do it myself but I am strapped for cash hence me selling her in order to move to NYC where I wont need a car. The chassis has about 150k on it and the engine has about 120k but was rebuilt before it was put into the car. The car has a 5 lug conversion. There is bluetooth connection, you can play music wirelessly from a phone, GPS capabilities, hands free talk, and you can download apps for the display. New speakers were installed last year, its been garage keep for the one winter it has been on the east coast, other then that it was a cali car it whole life, so absolutely no rust. The owner before me did all the work personally, so I dont know ever bit and detail of the swap but he did a lot of things I forget about, but he did the job very well. It has the m3 ecu2. The spedomotor is out of an m3 so it has the light up blue display which is cool, the M3 seats. This car really is a beast, and I wish I didnt have to sell it but I am broke and moving to NYC so some lucky person gets to have my baby. The clutch has a loose barring or plate something so it sometimes makes a noise but I have been told its an easy fix. Shifts and drives great just sometimes theres a noise when in neutral. Any questions comments or concerns feel free to ask.

BMW 8 Series turns 25 [w/video]

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

From the very beginning, the BMW 8 Series was a head turner. It was hardly a common sight in the first place, and the angular lines and low, pointed nose made the GT look like something special on the road. It's been 25 years since the Bavarian brand's flagship coupe of the '90s debuted, and owners celebrated the anniversary in style in Germany.
The 8 Series still looks great today, but its popup headlights give away its age a little. You just don't see them anymore. It was introduced at the 1989 Frankfurt Motor Show as the 850i with a 5.0-liter V12 under the hood capable of 295 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. Later, even bigger V12s would find their way in there. Production lasted until 1999, but they were rather exclusive with 30,621 built in its lifetime.
To celebrate the anniversary, several BMW clubs organized 120 examples for display at the company's headquarters in Munich. The brand took advantage of the display to show off the ultimate 8 prototype as well. The one-off special packed a 550-horsepower V12 and a body with optimized aero. That engine eventually became the basis for the one in the McLaren F1.

BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coup'e bows at Villa d'Este

Fri, 24 May 2013

The first collaboration between BMW and Pininfarina is this blunt-force two-door called the BMW Pininfarini Gran Lusso Coupe revealed at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. Said to be the "interpretation of a luxurious BMW Coupé as seen through the eyes of Pininfarina," once you get past all of the design-speak, you can focus on the full-bodied and keen-edged missile sitting on 21-inch wheels.
The long wheelbase makes for short overhangs. Up front, BMW's design language gets scraped across a whetstone, everything getting sharper, including the usually round cat's eye headlights that have gone dihedral. Under the hood is a V12, behind the twin-kidney grille in matte-sheen aluminium and high-gloss black. The same aluminum treatment also backs the taillights, the lenses designed to let air flow through them.
Inside is room for four, a cockpit canted toward the driver, Foglizzo leather in black and Tobacco Brown, 48,000-year-old kauri wood from New Zealand, deep pile carpet on the floors, a patterned virgin wool headliner and an "oblong aperture in the roof liner" set off by white LEDs.

BMW to offer carbon fiber wheels in a year or two

Sun, 23 Feb 2014

The Citroën SM sat on the first set of production glass fiber and resin wheels in 1972 when parent company Michelin developed the exotic hoops in order to take the SM rallying. It wasn't until 2008 that we got the first all-carbon-fiber wheel for passenger cars in the form of a prototype model from Weds Sports in Japan that remained a prototype. Australian company Carbon Revolution followed that a year later with its CR-9 all-CF wheel, first introduced on the Shelby Ultimate Aero and now available for independent purchase for about $15,000 per set. BMW could be the first OEM to offer entire wheels in carbon fiber reinforced plastic in two years.
The wheels - either all-CFRP or using a CFRP rim and alloy spokes - were shown off during BMW's Innovation Days in Munich and are products of the development work done on its i-branded cars. The full-CFRP wheel is 35-percent lighter than a forged alloy wheel, the hybrid alloy and CFRP wheel is 25-percent lighter, making for a decent drop in unsprung rotating weight. As demonstrators during a tech day the wheels aren't yet in the pipeline for production and EU approval, but an article in Auto Express claims that they could be on the market as soon as two years from now.
Other possible parts include a full carbon fiber steering wheel and propeller shaft, the latter of which is coming as a single-piece component on the new M3 and M4. BMW is also talking up its use of secondary carbon fiber - waste material from i3 and i8 production - that can be used for items like IP support structures, seat frames and spare wheels in place of traditional metals like aluminum and magnesium. There's an excerpt of the Innovation Day press release below with more details.
