1972 - Bmw 2002 on 2040-cars
Lake Placid, Florida, United States
Car includes the complete 7 piece wide body kit, I have included pictures of what it looked liked in 1995. I have removed the entire suspension, engine, transmission and differential (not included with car). The electrical harness has been removed (not included). the Brake booster assembly is also removed, along with the pedal box assembly (not included). The ATS 16 gallon fuel cell with aviation filler remains installed in trunk, along with the battery box in the right rear corner of trunk floor (custom false floor remains installed). 6 point aluminum roll cage included, along with custom roll cage padding and covers. WINK rear view mirror is installed. All glass is installed. Hood, doors and rear deck lid installed. Front strut bar is included, roll cage and strut bar are painted BMW Daytona to match car. Front wide body fenders are included, rear wide body fenders are not installed. Heater assembly removed, wiper system removed. Negative comments: The wide body kit will require some repairs and repainting. Both of the front sub-frame support rails have rust in the end of the support (most rearward area). Both outside rocker panels were replaced in 1993, there is some rust in the inboard drivers side rocker approximately 5 inches. If I were going to repair the rust I would use 4 X 4 square tubing and tie the roll cage mounts into this new support along side the rockers. The car is structurally safe and stiff, I have jacked the car using either side rocker jack support and both sides of the car are even when placing jack stands. I just want a full disclosure of what the car needs, no surprises for the buyer. It will take someone with welding and fabricating ability to properly repair the rust. The car is presently mounted on a two custom 2 X 2 inch square tube frames and rolls nicely.

2015 BMW M3 and M4 configurator launched, no lunch hour safe
Thu, 03 Apr 2014BMW has just made your lunch break a little more interesting by launching the configurators for the M3 and M4. Pricing and options for the new sports coupe and sedan was revealed just a few days ago, but it's always more fun to see the visual effect your personalizations have on the bottom line.
The M3 and M4 start at $62,000 and $64,200, respectively, without a $925 destination charge. However, as soon as the configurator is opened, both models default with metallic paint ($550) and the M Double-clutch Transmission ($2900), plus extended leather on the M3 ($950) and full leather on the M4 ($3,500). This is basically the way they were shown when displayed at auto shows. Of course, there's nothing preventing users from setting up these performance machines however they like.
So sit down at your desk with a cup of coffee or a sandwich and create your perfect German sport sedan or coupe. It's always fun to see how much money can be spent on a dream car.
First Ride: 2015 BMW M3 and M4
Wed, 25 Sep 2013Getting Our Butts In The Seats
Both the non-M BMW 3 Series sedan and 4 Series coupe have so far brought much pleasure to us at Autoblog. The terrific four-cylinder 328i trim has become our favorite of the 3 Series line, while we have yet to get a chance at the 428i coupe. That said, the 35i trim powered by a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine is not exactly to be sniffed at.
We all know the ones you're really waiting for, though. The F80 fifth-generation M3 sedan and the supremely sexy F82 M4 coupe. Rumors have been buzzing for a couple of years now that the engine would be another V8, only turbocharged this time, or else a tri-turbo six. Well, today BMW confirmed that the mill under the hood's power bulge is a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo of the biturbo variety, referred to internally as "S55B30 variant."
BMW joins the early holiday advertising fray with three new ads
Thu, 06 Nov 2014October 31 is no longer known as Halloween, or All Saints' Eve or even as that day when all children simultaneously develop huge cavities. It's now known as the day before Christmas/holiday advertising begins. Seriously, as of November 1, it seems like companies across the country and from every industry have declared open season on holiday ad campaigns. It's all premature enough that we're already feeling our inner Grinch showing, but at least some of the ads are better done than others.
Among them are new spots from BMW, which has arrived with this mini-campaign of three 30-second, Christmas-themed spots. There's a cameo from Santa Claus, who's at the helm of a sleek M6 Gran Coupe in one spot, while a 3 Series Gran Coupe slices through a slalom of Christmas trees in another. The final spot, called "Road Home", doesn't focus so much on the brand's "Ultimate Driving Machines," as it does the trip home for the holidays.
We've embedded all three videos below, so take a look and then let us know what you think of this seemingly perpetual holiday marketing calendar creep - and the BMW ads in particular - in Comments.
