Great example of a 1969 Chamonix 2002 BMW. This car is a dependable daily driver, easy to start, does not leak or burn oil, and runs very strong.  Actually faster in my opinion than the 1969 I owned in 1971. The only non original aspect is the 5 speed transmission along with the electronic ignition. If you wanted to you could easily drive this car from LA to NY. The best part of the car is the original interior, all the dash gear works- gauges, switches, windshield washers, lights, blinkers. The heater works great, the regulators all work. The sunroof works perfectly and seals nicely. The crank windows and pop out windows along with the small wheel wind wings all work perfectly. The car has the original seat belts, seats are full adjustable and carpets look new. Headliner is clean and intact. Sun visors are perfect. The dash has NO cracks at all.  I bought the car 5 years ago from a BMW nut in Irvine for $12,300.00 All I have done is added the electronic ignition and the new bonnet (which was a bust). It comes with one set of keys for the ignition door locks and locking gas cap. I also have a new set of Bembro rear drums and complete set of new brake shoes, the original distributor and points and condenser along with a extra electric pump motor for the washer fluid reservoir and the correct Weber carburetor rebuild kit, all of which goes with the car.   This car is awesome but it is not "like new'" and therefore I am asking the appropriate amount of money.  If you have cold feet, go soak them in a bath tub full of hot water but whatever you do please don't bid on my car. I don't want to sell this car to a cry baby, if you are expecting a like new 1969 BMW 2002 go find yourself one and have $25,000.00 ready to buy it with.  Buying cars on Ebay is man's work, I have bought two motorcycles and three cars on EBay and have not regretted a single purchase.  You are free to have the car inspected, you can come and drive it, if someone wants to put a wrench to it they can as long as I have the purchase price in my hand in case you screw it up.  You are responsible for the cost and any associated liability of shipping the car to it's new home, or you can come here and pick it up and drive it home. I will cooperate with those that wish to ship the car, by that I mean I will take the car within a 30 mile radius of Walnut Creek CA to drop it off for shipping.  I require a non refundable $500 deposit within 24 hours of your successful bid (paypal if you prefer) the balance within 7 days in a cashiers check or personal check. I will ship the title via FedEx to you within one day of your funds clearing your bank.  Finally I have added the obligatory Youtube video of me demonstrating the car, you will see it is indeed a strong car.   Car is being sold as is, no warranty all sales final in other words.

BMW 2 Series Convertible goes for a drive in the cold

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

The BMW 2 Series is the car that will eventually replace the 1 Series here in the United States (remember: the 1 Series moniker will live on to describe the hatchback models in other markets), and while we've seen the new coupe out on the prowl, we're now seeing the droptop version out on the road. We don't have much information about the new 2er models, only that they are expected to bow sometime in 2014.
Dimensionally, the new 2 Series convertible looks very similar in size to its outgoing 1 Series kin, with things like the roofline and roof shape looking nearly identical. Of course, reworked front and rear fascias are immediately noticeable, and judging by what little we can see, it appears as though the small BMW will take many of its design cues from the larger 3 Series rather than the oft-awkward-looking 1 Series hatch that's currently available in Europe.
Assuming things are still on track for 2014, we won't rule out a possible debut in Geneva, though the Frankfurt expo in September makes even more sense.

BMW M4 sheds some camouflage for latest test run

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

Last time we saw the upcoming BMW M4 out testing, it was heavily clad with camouflage and decidedly homely looking (as most early development mules are). But in this latest set of photos, the M3 coupe successor has started to come into its own skin, and we're seeing a shape more closely akin to that of a rendering we brought you a few months back.
Unsurprisingly, the M4 coupe looks very similar to the 4 Series Concept that BMW debuted at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year. And while non-M version of the 4er will likely look a bit more sedate, these spy shots clearly show an aggressive front fascia, large wheels and the usual quad-exhaust rounding out the rear end.
Naturally, the M3 sedan will launch before this M4 coupe (and convertible), and powertrain details are still unclear as of this writing. We understand that the current M3's naturally aspirated V8 will be axed in favor of some sort of turbocharged six-cylinder engine, and we've heard plenty of rumors as to what, exactly, it might be, but we have yet to hear any official confirmation.

BMW starts Apple-like "Genius" program to explain tech

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

Even workaday cars are so capable now that even most auto scribes don't truly find out about a car's limits until a professional driver shows them what they are. It's the same with a vehicle's suite of features and the technology inside - there's so much of it that most people will have no idea what their cars can offer them. BMW is the latest company to make a personal effort to change that, introducing "young, tech-savvy employees" to dealerships as part of its "BMW Genius Everywhere" initiative.
Having no part in the actual sale of a vehicle, a BMW Genius is present on the showroom floor only to answer questions about the company's products and their features. If the customer decides to buy, he is transferred to a salesperson. A pilot program in the UK proved its effectiveness, it will now be rolled out across Europe and then come to the United States toward the end of this year in time for the launch of the i3. Details are still being worked out, but each BMW dealer will have at least one Genius.
For assistance that doesn't require visiting the auto mall, BMW is also putting vehicle and feature tutorials on its US website to "make our knowledge about our brand more interesting and more accessible to the consumer." They will appear online sometime in the latter half of the year, and will also be bundled into iPhone and iPad apps.
