Audi S4 Quattro 4.2l 380hp V8 2005 Cabriolet Convertible Rare Sprint Blue Pearl on 2040-cars

US $10,500.00
Year:2005 Mileage:76730
Location:

Harrisonburg, Virginia, United States

Harrisonburg, Virginia, United States

Shipping and payment:  Cash or Cashier's Check.  Buyer to arrange for pick-up/delivery.  Vehicle located in Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, two hours from DC or Richmond; six hours from NYC.

History: Bought vehicle from a dealer in northern Virginia in September 2009, with 35K miles.  One prior owner.  Had it ever since (5+ years).  Even though it is an AWD Quattro, it never has been out in snow or ice.  One minor accident involving front passenger fender area.  Repairs made.  Always has been garage stored.  Two things to know about the history:  (1) History shows frame/unibody damage - prior to my purchase.  In fact, the report of the damage was not made till five months after my purchase.  Inspection I commissioned indicated that the damage was fully repaired - and, there have been no issues with this during my ownership.  (2) History shows two odometer issues - on AutoCheck, not CarFax.  One before I purchased vehicle and one recently.  The first is clearly a clerical error - mileage was 34,549 in Aug 2009 and then reported at 39,549 in Sept 2009 - the 4 clearly was misread as a 9.  Then, I purchased it at 35K and that made things look like a rollback.  Since this would be a crime, AutoCheck should have pursued the matter with law enforcement authorities or confirmed the accuracy of the Sept 2009 report; it did neither.  The car was on a lot and did not likely get driven exactly 5,000 miles in 30 days on a lot.  Common sense....  The second shows mileage at 129K, but I have complete records from date of purchase through today that shows mileage.  It's at 76,725 as of this afternoon and five more miles to get home.  76,730 right now in my garage.  Someone entered mileage from another car, not this one.  So, what all this means is that the history shows these situations and this has a severe impact on the value for trade with a dealer.  But, these things do not affect the quality of this vehicle.  The price reflects a deep discount (of $5,000+) due to all this.

Features:  Just about as fully equipped as this model could be in 2005.  Premium Package.

Condition:  The vehicle body is in very good condition.  The paint is still shines like new but there are a few areas where it's flaked. Some road chip mark in front.  Minor paint issues.  The interior is in excellent condition.  Engine is in excellent shape.  Exhaust system excellent. Pipes are excellent.   Needs a new airbag sensor for passenger seat.  $300.  Price also reflects this expense.  With that, you would have a car that still turns heads.  Will send you photos if you're seriously interested.  And, will answer any questions you have.

Without the history issues and the airbag sensor replacement needed, this vehicle merits a pricing at $16,500 - $17,000.   To make it attractive to someone who would love to enjoy this car, I am discounting it $6,000+ for the history issues and $500 for the airbag sensor replacement.   The price is $10,500.  Won't find one like it for that.

Audi Q7 E-Tron confirmed?

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

Rumors out of Australia say we'll be seeing a new variant of the Audi Q7 when the next-generation models bows in a few years. Joining the diesel and gas range will be the second production member of Audi's E-Tron family, which was introduced by the R8 E-Tron, but will actually see production in the form of the A3 E-Tron.
Speaking with Audi's managing director in Australia, Andrew Doyle, Car Advice asked what the future held now that the electrified R8 had effectively been shelved. "I don't see it [R8 E-Tron] as a major thing for us. We'll launch [locally] with A3, followed by Q7..."
The new Q7 will share its platform with the Volkswagen Group's two other large SUVs, the Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg. But, as Car Advice is quick to point out, the Porsche and VW variants are slated for arrive next year - the second-generation Q7 won't arrive until 2015. Doyle refused to explain the discrepancy.

1,682 miles in a 2014 Audi A8 L TDI - Part 2

Thu, 10 Oct 2013

Interruptions like the Canadian Grand Prix, Le Mans, Pikes Peak, that ridiculous Porsche 911 GT3 and the really good, really outrageous Jeep Cherokee, are among the distractions that delayed the conclusion of this tale. If you'll remember, in Part 1 we started off in a parking lot in Sebring with an Audi A8, headed anywhere that would empty our tank, and after five days in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale and Pompano Beach we bolted in the middle of the night for a breakfast date at an IHOP a couple hundred miles away.
We last left proceedings at a Chevron pump beside the West Florida Turnpike, somewhere around midnight in the humid wilds, having done 660 miles and spent $89.40 to put 20.992 gallons in the great white whale. We had done average speed of 31 miles per hour at an average rate of 27.5 miles per gallon. Those kinds of numbers, as we demonstrated, are good enough to put you in the fuel economy orbit of the Toyota Corolla - to be precise, it only cost $6.40 more to cover that 660 miles in the A8 TDI than it would in the Japanese compact. That led us to conclude that there were just a couple of Starbucks Venti lattes between the A8 and the Corolla, assuming we conveniently ignore the two cars' purchase prices. Turns out we were wrong: it didn't take long for a commenter named "mike" to set us straight when he wrote, "It's clear you weren't lying about not frequenting Starbucks...no way could you get two venti lattes for $6.40." Mike, we salute you - our ignorance of terrible coffee has served the higher purpose of emphasizing the strong case made by the diesel Audi.
But that A8... well, the wheels were still on the damn thing and we had to drive them off. That meant five more days of pilot duty to get us from wherever the hell we were to Wildwood and Daytona Beach, FL, then Brunswick, Macon and Atlanta, GA, then Birmingham, AL, and back to Atlanta.

Next Audi R8 seen and heard in this spy video

Thu, 27 Mar 2014

A few weeks ago, our clandestine spy photographers brought home the first good look at the next-generation Audi R8. We were all pretty stoked.
Seemingly following the game plan of the recently shown Audi TT, the next R8 looks to be an evolutionary update on a supercar form that pretty much everyone loves.
Today, the same shooters that snapped the car in stills have delivered some pretty compelling moving pictures of the thing. Captured both in some less-than-inspiring around-town traffic situations and out on the Nürburgring, the video delivers our first taste of the new R8's auditory splendor. Well... a taste of it, anyway.
