Stasis Supercharged Super Car
The Audi R8 has always been the starter Supercar, with just its toe in the water till ` LP560-4 lump with and
additional 25 HP over the standard 5.2 V10 for a total of 550hp / 398 lb-ft of torque. Then not for the faint of
heart, the engineers from Stasis bolted on a Supercharger that brings the car to 730hp at the crank. This brings
the engine performance to within a couple HP of the Ferrari F12. Stasis claims 0-60 times in sub 3 seconds. This
Audi R8 has come form a local collector with a large collection of the worlds most desirable supercars, and always
been cared for as such. All the work to this car has been done at the Audi dealer in conjunction with the Stasis
team of engineers that flew out to perform the modifications. For added sound a full GMG sport exhaust system was
installed. The R8 Plus comes from the factory with firmer springs and dampeners inspired by the R8 GT edition.
The biggest change to the model from its predecessors is the edition of the 7-speed dual clutch automatic, called
the S Tronic. This Formula One style transmission put the power to the ground with lightning fast gearshifts up
and beautifully sounding perfectly matched downshifts. This alone is a $7800 option on standard R8’s. This car
has a special order paint package for $2500 of solid non-metallic paint. The total for Supercharger installation
at the Audi dealer was $46182 plus another $8000 for the GMG exhaust system. The Plus version comes standard
with the Carbon-ceramic brakes, full carbon fiber interior. This car is in the super car stratosphere with its
performance and style, no question about it.

Audi Sport Quattro Concept to spawn volume sports car?
Mon, 30 Dec 2013There have been two modern re-imaginings of the original 1984 Audi Ur-Quattro: the Quattro Concept of 2010 (shown above) and the Sport Quattro Concept revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. In between them, there have been numerous rumors about what, if any, kind of production car Audi might make of them. According to a new report in Auto Motor und Sport, Audi CEO Rupert Stadler has "indicated... that the car will come," and based on the specs presented, what we get might end up being a mix of the two.
Ulrich Hackenberg, Audi's head of R&D, apparently wants a sports car with wider appeal than the 700-horsepower hybrid Sport Quattro Concept. AMS says his vision would be built on a modified A6 platform - the same MLB architecture under the Sport Quattro Concept - with ample use of carbon and aluminum keeping the weight down to around 1,300 kilograms (under 2,900 pounds). Engines could include a 2.5-liter, five-cylinder (like that of the original, smaller Quattro Concept) offering anything from 310 to 360 hp. Those numbers would be at least 48 horsepower shy of the first concept, but a less-powerful entry point to a new model range would provide a lower cost of entry. Besides, a full model range would likely include a significantly healthier powertrain option on the top end.
At the moment, Hackenberg is said to be unsatisfied with the design of the car, which could well mean we'll get another concept car before a production version appears.
Audi Canada surprises out-of-warranty owners in a good way
Wed, 24 Jul 2013One of the worst parts about going to a dealership is sitting around waiting for the courtesy shuttle to show up and transport a group of strangers to their places of work or homes. Well, Audi of Canada found a nice way to surprise customers who brought their out-of-warranty vehicles in for a scheduled Health Check by replacing dealer's normal shuttle with a 2014 Audi R8 V10.
The R8, painted to resemble a safety car or police car, gave the customers a ride home - even stopping at a coffee shop along the way. Needless to say, the stunt got plenty of attention from passers-by and was quite a hit with the Audi customers, too. Scroll down to watch video of the customers getting the ride of a lifetime, which we're sure left some of the in-warranty customers at least a little jealous as they drove off in dealer loaner cars.
2015 Audi A3 configurator is up and running
Thu, 16 Jan 2014Potential customers for the new Audi A3 should set aside some time during their lunch breaks to head over and build their ideal example of the new sedan. The official configurator, complete with pricing and options, has gone live on the Audi website.
Customers can choose from three trim levels (Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige), while each trim can be had with either the Volkswagen Group's familiar 2.0-liter, turbocharged, 220-horsepower four-cylinder or a 1.8-liter, turbocharged, 170-horsepower four-cylinder. Buyers of the 2.0-liter will enjoy Quattro all-wheel drive while power for the 1.8T is channeled through the front wheels only. A six-speed, S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission is standard across the range.
You can check out full pricing on the A3 right here, but as a means of recap, the base Premium trim with the 1.8-liter engine starts at $29,900. A Premium Plus 1.8T starts $32,800 and the Prestige 1.8T will cost $38,700. Adding a 2.0-liter turbo and Quattro increases the price by $3,000, regardless of trim. Those prices don't include an $895 destination charge.
