This 2001 Audi Allroad is in overall good condition. has its dings and scrapes, but has been kept up with mechanically very well.
the interior of this car is very nice. it is however missing some cupholders which can be sourced easily. and the gauge cluster has the usual dead pixels. there is a small dent in the passenger front fender which i believe could be fixed fairly inexpensively. and a scratch in the rear quarter which could also be color buffed out. engine is missing its plastic covers also this vehicle has a couple options not found often including the 3rd row seating which is great for kids (total seating is 7) and Cold weather package which includes heated seats and heated steering wheel. 2.7 twin turbo with an automatic (tiptronic) transmission which shifts very smooth. steering wheel shifting is also on this vehicle. this is a CLEAN TITLE car. when i purchased the car i got a folder with probably 95% of its history of repairs down to oil changes. since i have aquired the car i have replaced both front airbags (new from Arnott( OEM)) coolant temp sensor and all 4 upper control arms in the front. Audi design chief Egger leaving for Italdesign Giugiaro
Thu, 05 Dec 2013Wolfgang Egger, Audi's chief designer, is leaving the company according to a Automotive News Europe, which cites a report from Germany's Automobilwoche. Egger won't be going far, though, remaining within the Volkswagen family and taking up head design position Italdesign Giugiaro, a VW subsidiary as of 2010.
Egger took over the position at Audi from Walter de Silva, and has been responsible most recently for the Audi A6 and A3, as well as the 2010 Quattro Concept and the E-Tron Concept. He previously was head of design at Lancia and then at Alfa Romeo, where he was responsible for the achingly gorgeous 8C Competizione.
If Egger does move to Italdesign, his successor is likely to be Marc Lichte, the Volkswagen designer behind the current Golf. Of course, these personnel changes haven't been officially confirmed, and Audi is thus far refusing to comment on either Egger or Lichte's possible career shifts. We'll stay with this one, so sit tight.
2014 Audi S1 Quattro leaks ahead of reveal
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Rumors have been swirling that Audi will unveil the next-generation TT at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, but now it seems as if European hot hatch fans will be getting a car of their own from the German automaker. Images of the S1 Sportback Quattro have leaked out today, giving us our first taste of the real thing after seeing the camouflaged version a few months ago.
Audi may be planning to release official details about the S1 and refreshed A1 tomorrow and debut them publicly in Geneva. The S1 is expected to use the Volkswagen 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder with about 230hp, all-wheel drive and a choice of six-speed manual or dual-clutch transmission. It is basically supposed to be Golf GTI in a tiny package with all-wheel drive.
While it is highly unlikely we are getting any version of the A1 on these shores, it's always fun to see the cars lucky European enthusiasts enjoy.
