I purchased this rare car in October 2012 from the original owner who first leased it through his company and then bought it personally so he could continue driving it. The only damage he had was caused by a piece of wood that flipped up and slightly dented the front hood which was repaired perfectly before I bought it. It has been serviced throughout by Sonnen Audi of Marin by both the original owner and myself. Any enquiries can be directed to Gene Frank of Sonnen Audi. This car has everything including a Valentine 360 Radar Detector installed. The owner spent another $8,500.00 to bring the purchase price up to $126,555 in July 2005 by adding a Full Leather Upgrade, Adaptive Cruise Control, 20" wheels (instead of 19"), a solar sunroof to power the twin fans to keep the interior cool in summer and XM Satellite radio. It has blue tooth to connect your phone for calls. All I added was an I-Phone dock to charge the I-Phone and play my music, although the car also has a 6 disc CD player which sounds great o the Bose sound system. It also has a 6 disc DVD player for movies shown on the 2 screens on the rear of the front head rests. Remote control and 2 headsets included. Great for kids. I had Sonnen Audi carry out a "105 Point pre-Owned Inspection" when I bought it and it passed all items. I bought a "Platinum" Level Audi Pure Protection Policy from Sonnen Audi good to October 2014. I have had the car serviced at Audi and had only 2 minor problems. The rear drivers side door locking button and the trunk power closing, all fixed under the warranty. Nothing major and the car has driven like new with no problems. The current M&S tires on the car have good tread left and I also have a spare set of summer tires included in the price which are almost brand new. The car has always been garaged at home and also is parked in a covered garage at work so the paint and leather are still looking like new. Special things I like are the heated and ventilated seats and the drive to car computer interface monitor (voice control) which I use mainly to change music when driving. It is a very special car and the new owner will be a very happy person to be seen driving this car around town.

Audi RS7 vs. Porsche Panamera Turbo, which would you pick? [w/poll]

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

We live in a blessed time - a time when you can buy not just one, but two (or three, or four) monstrously powerful, blazingly fast four-doors that can't only keep up with modern supercars, but in some instances, will outperform them as well. Two of the finest are the Audi RS7 and the refreshed Porsche Panamera Turbo, and Motor Trend has been messing around with the both of them in this comparison video.
MT provides a comprehensive and entertaining look at the RS7 and the turbocharged Panamera as they go through a battery of tests, before getting tossed about on both the road and the track. Starring flip-flop aficionado Jonny Lieberman, it's a must-watch, whether you're in the market for one of the two super sedans or merely want to see the former Autoblog editor again.
After having a look at the video, register a vote for the car you'd park in your driveway in our poll. Hop below for the full video from the team at Motor Trend.

Audi S1 nearly ready to rocket euros out of your pocket

Wed, 27 Nov 2013

Audi was out testing its upcoming S1 on the streets of Germany when our trusty spy photographers snapped the new, all-wheel-drive hot hatch that's set to succeed the limited-edition A1 Quattro.
Unlike the A1 Quattro, the S1 should sport a much less aggressive look overall. As shown in the spy shots, its wheel wells lack the meaty flairs of its predecessor while its rear wing is much more subdued. The wheels are more in line with what we expect from Audi's S models and its higher ride height is more conducive to common things like steep driveways and speed bumps that the 333-unit A1 Quattro might not encounter.
According to our spies, the S1 should hit the European market with anywhere from 220 to 250 horsepower, making it considerably more potent than competitors like the Ford Fiesta ST or Polo GTI from its parent company, Volkswagen (although it'll likely arrive at a considerably higher price than either of those pocket rockets). On the high end, that's roughly equal to the 252 ponies generated by the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four in the A1 Quattro

2014 Audi S1 Quattro [w/video]

Audi may only now be fully committing to the US compact car market with a range of A3 models, but it's got far more small car expertise than most Americans realize, and its offerings get even tinier, too. Back in 2010, Audi leapt into the subcompact premium fray - in all markets but the United States, Canada and China - with its A1. The A1 family has sold all right, but not quite as well as was expected, likely due to its price when optioned up. (It also doesn't help that the Volkswagen Polo is a great car on the same architecture and costs much less.)
But Audi seems compelled to make high-buck S trims of everything nowadays, so right on schedule, I've scored seat time in its new S1 Quattro. Under its gumdrop-colored hood is the very popular 2.0-liter TFSI motor. In this trim, it's good for 228 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque between 1,600 and 3,000 rpm. That's quite a lot of gumption for this little blaster - enough power for 0-60 in just 5.7 seconds.
My drive was originally supposed happen on a sub-zero frozen lake in Sweden, only Audi forgot to call Mother Nature and ask her to hold off on springtime. It would have turned into a slush drive and then a submarine test had I been told to stick to the original plan, so it was dusty, soggy and gravel-y pavement instead, which turned out to be a better real-world test anyhow. Plus, the car got even cuter when it was filthy.
