UPDATE: Had full synthetic oil change and timing belt water pump service done. replaced all parts. pulleys, tensioner gaskets, hardware, everything in the system. I have a 2004 Audi A8L that has been the best car that my family has owned. We are looking to sell it to reduce our "fleet" It has higher miles (High way) but has been checked out by Good Karma in North East Minneapolis and it all checks out, they said "this is really a nice car. I would never guess it has as many miles as it does." The paint, Burgundy Red Pearl effect, is nearly spotless and still shines like it was new. The interior is in great shape with no rips in the heated, and cooled leather seats. Air ride system works as should, MMI works. I have both the CarFax and the AutoCheck reports available upon request. Ask questions PLEASE. Has almost every option, except the back up camera (IT DOES HAVE parking sensors) or the solar roof, which were junk and gimmicky. Plus you don't actually get the sunroof with the solar option. MPG 17 city 25 Hwy. Pretty good for a BIG 330hp V8 ! As with all Audi A8L's it is AWD Quattro, and has a 6 speed Automatic (Triptronic) transmission. I have 2 full sets of wheels with good tires. Audi RS Q3 is funky, chunky, spunky forbidden fruit [w/videos]
Tue, 05 Mar 2013After salivating over the Audi RS6 Avant last night, we're happy to see yet another RS-branded Audi here on the show floor at the Geneva Motor Show. Meet the RS Q3, Audi's first ever high-performance crossover, showing what's possible when the Ingolstadt automaker brings its best sporting bits to its smallest CUV.
Powering the RS Q3 is Audi's 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine - the same one found in sweetie-darlings like the TT RS and RS3. Output is rated at 310 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque, sent to all four wheels via the automaker's seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission. Weighing in at just over 3,800 pounds, the RS Q3 is indeed a porky little pig, but no matter - that forced-induction fire will propel the small crossover to 62 miles per hour in five and a half seconds. And that's with launch control, too.
The RS Q3 certainly looks the part of a proper sporty Audi, with exaggerated air vents and bulgy, aggressive bits all around. Honestly, we like the way the RS package has translated to the Q3 form - this design really works well on the smaller CUV package. Inside, performance-minded fittings like a flat-bottomed steering wheel, upgraded gauges and sport seats bring the whole RS pack full circle. We'll admit, we're definitely intrigued by this little guy.

You see, I've just spent a week with the 2014 Audi A7 TDI, shown here against the backdrop of sunny SoCal, even though my stint was spent slopping through this absolutely wonderful winter we've been having in Detroit. If you're one of our podcast listeners, you've already heard me wax poetic about the A7 TDI, and the more I reflect on this diesel darling, the more I firmly believe that this car absolutely, without a doubt, checks all the right boxes.
Well, almost all of them, anyway.
IIHS bestows 2015 Audi A3 with Top Safety Pick+ [w/video]
Wed, 26 Mar 2014There's some good news for Audi today, as the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has named the all-new A3 one of its Top Safety Pick+, the institute's highest award for safety.
While there are no shortage of cars that can handle the standard IIHS trial, the tough small overlap test needed to earn TSP+ has flummoxed more than a few vehicles from prestigious, safety minded manufacturers. In the A3's case, though, it handled the small-overlap tests well.
According to the IIHS, there wasn't much intrusion into the cabin from the impact, which simulates a 40-mile-per-hour impact on 25 percent of a car's front end. The crash test dummy was held in place, with just a low risk of injuries. You can view the crash test video below, as well as read a brief press release from the IIHS.
