For sale is my Audi A6 Quattro. It is green with a tan leather interior. The car has been a daily driver since 2005 when I commuted to Lansing every day for work. The car is in good shape. There is a ding on the front left wheel well and some scratches in the paint but it cleans up well. I have done all of the maintenance on it. Last summer I replaced the Timing belt and all pulleys/seals, water pump, serpentine belt, spark plugs and other wear items. I replaced one of the head gaskets and rebuilt the head at 140K and the cylinder walls still had the cross hatch pattern from the hone when the engine was new....pretty amazing. The transmission fluid has been replaced every year and the tranny shifts smooth. Tire are a couple years old...still plenty of tread. There are a couple leaks. The passenger side valve cover and the oil pan are leaking and the hose for the secondary water pump has developed a leak. The catalytic converters are newer..one was replaced last year and the other the year before. Starter and alternator were rebuilt in the last two years as well. The check engine light is on due to bad post cat oxygen sensors and the ABS module needs to be replaced. This has been a great car for us and all of the faults are easy to fix for someone who can work on cars. If the car sits until spring, I will fix the leaks and ask $3000 for it. It runs well and drives straight and until yesterday, when we picked up a new car, my wife drive it to work every day. Call or text me 616.929.0871 Mike. I'll take a better pic when I go outside....it's cold!

2016 Audi A6

Thu, 06 Nov 2014

After dodging light traffic for more than 10 miles at speeds never exceeding 85 miles per hour, the left lane of the derestricted autobahn ahead of us finally opens wide. This is the opportunity we've been waiting for, and we bury the accelerator against its stop and hold it there. The transmission attached to the turbocharged four-cylinder of our 2016 Audi A6 drops a couple gears and begins an arduous battle against aerodynamic drag.
The sleek sedan cuts through the wind effortlessly up until about 125 mph, after which the speedometer needle slows noticeably as the outside world continues to blur. By 145 mph, there's no longer a discernible feeling of acceleration, yet the bright-orange speedometer needle continues its climb. Finally, the speedometer nearly reaches 160 before we are forced to firmly brake and return to saner speeds because of traffic looming ahead.
Automakers routinely host us in Europe and elsewhere to sample their wares in a much less restrictive driving environment. Which explains why we find ourselves standing in Dresden, Germany, a stunningly beautiful 800-year-old city along the Elbe River, overlooking Audi's latest executive express.

Audi already teasing, testing next R18 e-tron quattro

Mon, 09 Dec 2013

You can't debate Audi's record in endurance racing. With 12 victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, it comes second only to Porsche in the history books of the famous endurance race - only in Audi's case, all of those victories have come in the last 14 years, losing only twice: once to its partner team Bentley in 2003 and once to rival Peugeot in 2009. It's won the FIA World Endurance Championship in both of the seasons it's run so far, and has won championships in the European and American Le Mans Series, too.
That's quite a record to defend, and defend it Audi will with an evolved LMP1 racer next year. Only a week after tying up its second consecutive world championship, the German outfit is already back at Sebring this weekend testing the successor to the all-conquering R18 e-tron Quattro. Unfortunately as the new United SportsCar Championship doesn't include LMP1s, the only chance we may have to see it competing here in the United States will be at the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas in September.
Audi is keeping mum on the details for the time being, releasing only this one photo and promising to reveal further details before the end of the month, but we can already discern a more streamlined shape, revised aero and reprofiled headlamps among the changes from the outgoing R18. One way or another, with Toyota upping its game and Porsche returning to top-level competition next season, Audi may be in for its toughest challenge yet - but you can bet it won't take it lying down. Scope out the press release below and watch this space for more.

Audi also calling in A8, S8 over sunroof issue

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

The S6 and S7 (apparently prone to potential fuel leaks) aren't the only Audis being recalled currently, as a separate recall notice has been issued for its flagship A8 luxury sedan and its high-performance counterpart, the S8.
The problem apparently revolves around the glass sunroof, which is fitted as standard and which is reportedly prone to break. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration determined that not only could the falling shards themselves end up injuring the vehicle's occupants, but could also distract the driver enough to cause a crash. As a result, Audi's American wing is bringing in all 2013 and 2014 model year A8s and S8s - 1,120 units in all - to have their glass sunroofs replaced free of charge.
