Up for sale is a rebuilt 2010 Audi A5. I have pictures of the damage to the vehicle before it was rebuilt. Total repair costs from OEM Audi Parts and licensed body shop totaling $6,000. An extra $6,000 was spent to repaint the car in a satin matte black finish. Not cheap vinyl used. The damage was concentrated to the driver's side front. Mostly cosmetic. Car was inspected by structural inspector and drivetrain inspected too and car is sound. I need to sell ASAP due to construction renovations to my house and I need to free up some money. My loss is your gain. First reasonable offer will take it. The smokey tailight covers have been taken off and were sold and the rims changed to 19" RS5 style wheels.

Audi R8 V10 Plus vs. Renault Clio Cup racecar will make you go hmmm...

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

Match up a hot hatch with a supercar of the same vintage, and we'll tell you who will win every time. It's easy, really, as the supercar invariably features a more advanced suspension, stickier tires and most importantly, more power. What if the hot hatch is race prepped, though?
In that particular case, all bets are off. A circuit-tuned suspension, a stripped-down cabin, an ultra-quick sequential transmission and the greatest equalizer of them all, slick tires, are all that's needed to turn the typical hot hatch into a proper dragon slayer.
Perhaps seeking to prove this, Evo has put together an interesting head-to-head between the Audi R8 V10 and a race-prepared Renault Clio Cup. Host Dickie Meaden takes us through each car, highlighting the bits and bobs on both sides which should make this a tight competition. And boy, is this one tight.

Audi builds 3-millionth A3

Sun, 21 Jul 2013

About a month after Volkswagen celebrated building its 30-millionth example of the Golf, Audi has announced that it has produced three million versions of its small hatchback, the closely related Audi A3. Probably more surprising than the fact that the A3 has moved in such big numbers since its global debut in 1996 is the fact that it has done so with relatively little support in the US, seeing marginal sales in the States since 2005.
The three-millionth A3 was a Sportback TDI model, but the lineup has grown this year to include a new sedan and S3 model, and the hybrid A3 E-tron is on the way. With these new models - especially the sedan in the US - we expect the A3 to continue to be a popular entrant in the premium small segment. Scroll down for Audi's official press release.

Audi recalls 850,000 A4 models globally for airbags that won't deploy

Thu, 23 Oct 2014

Audi has announced that it will be recalling 850,000 A4 sedans, wagons and Allroad models across the globe due to a software problem that could prevent the front airbags from deploying. All 850,000 vehicles were built after 2012.
Audi has already adjusted production of new A4s to eliminate the software glitch. Meanwhile, the German manufacturer was quick to emphasize that Takata did not manufacture the affected airbags.
According to Reuters, 250,000 of the affected A4s were built for the Chinese market, while another 150,000 were sold in Germany. Audi didn't provide a breakdown beyond those two countries, although it'd be a surprise if there weren't at least some affected airbags in the US market.
