Audi A4 1.8t Sport - Cabriolet A+++ Condition on 2040-cars

Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Reluctantly Up For Sale is a 2004 Audi A4 (B6) 1.8T Cabriolet Sport This car has been garaged kept, tastefully upgraded, and is in excellent condition.  The miles are 75k - the vast majority are highway miles, noting that the A4 1.8T is one of the most fuel efficient vehicles available with EPA 20/28.  With an 18.5 gallon tank, the range is 518+.  This is the "sport" model, with an Audi factory lowered sport suspension of 1" and came with larger wheels (which have been further upgraded to the S4 19" trim).  This car is best represented through the pictures, continues to get compliments from people, and is routinely parked in the front by valets, often confused for a much later-model vehicle. If you are looking for a  die-hard sports-car, the 1.8L engine will underwhelm you, Audi offers the S4 with a V-8.  The Turbo has expected "off-the-line" lag, but is amazing at highway speeds.  Merging, overtaking, and cruising at 70MPH+ with the RPMs in the mid 2s - gas mileage, ride, and functionality are unmatched.  The sport suspension is amazing, and in the twistys this car feels glued to the ground.  Bumps will also be noted, no help with the low-profile tires.  This car is european luxury, style, and taste done right.  Body proportions, comfortable cockpit, rear seats for two adults, ample trunk room, and meticulously trimmed in triple tan with silver accents.  Again - refer to pics. This A4 1.8T Cabriolet is of course a power folding convertible top, with silver-trimmed, amulet red rear-decklid.  Top is in excellent working condition.  Driver / Passenger 4-Way adjustable power seats with lumbar support.  Impressive 9-speaker stereo with Navigation / CD / DVD head unit producing 200+ W, with a powered sub-woofer in the car (buyer preference, can be removed in less than a minute) Upgrades include: In-Dash Pioneer (matching red lighted displays) 6.1" Widescreen WVGA, Bluetooth (Handsfree), Navigation, CD / DVD,  Touchscreen Display 19" Audi S4 Silver Polished Wheels Upgraded Silver Trim Interior (Dash Kit, Door Handles, Air Vents, Rear Arm Rests, etc.) Upgraded Sport Grille(s) All records, dealer-maintenance, etc.. are available for viewing.  Car comes with two remote key-fobs (folding key, unlock / lock, and trunk release) as well as an additional brand-new key (not programmed yet, I thought I lost one).  All manuals, Audi Emergency Kit, Full-size Spare tire, and Roadside hazard pack. Cons: Some door dings, wheel scrapes, leather folds etc.. due to normal wear and tear.  Certainly could be repaired. Rear window had seperated from rear glass and was repaired by convertible specialist - water tight, but a little unsightly in my opinion. Reason for Selling: A dreaded SUV is needed. US diesel model count to double for 2014?

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

While diesel cars are popular on most other continents, these less-complex alternative to hybrid-electric vehicles have yet to gain major traction in the US. As an increasing number of light cars and trucks start to offer these fuel-efficient engines, though, sales are expected to climb as well. While BMW, Mercedes-Benz and the Volkswagen Group (Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche) continue to lead the way, more non-German automakers like Mazda, Nissan, Chrysler and General Motors are starting to get serious about diesel in America.
TheDetroitBureau.com reports that the 2014 model year will see the number of diesel vehicles offered in the US double to about 40 nameplates, but the news gets even better for fans of these torquey and efficient powerplants. LMC Automotive has released data about future expectations of diesel cars in the US, and it predicts that sales should be very close to one million units in 2015 (up from an expected 600,000 units this year). By 2018, LMC's calculations suggest that sales will more than double from this year's expected totals accounting for almost 8 percent of new light-vehicle sales.

First impressions of Audi's next TT interior and Virtual Cockpit [w/video]

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

Not content to pummel CES show goers with laser lights and self-piloting vehicles, Audi has also pulled the wraps (well, some of the wraps) off the interior of its upcoming next-gen TT. While the car itself wasn't on hand for us to check out, Audi did mock up the cockpit, complete with its all-new Virtual Cockpit central display and the latest iteration of the company's Multi Media Interface (MMI).
Virtual Display is Audi's new brand name for a completely digital reinterpretation of the instrument binnacle, by way of a 12.3-inch TFT screen. Audi tells us that there are two operable modes for Virtual Display: in the standard mode, an average-sized tachometer and speedometer flank a smaller infotainment portion in the center. Infotainment mode, meanwhile, shrinks the gauges to discreet circles and allows the navigation map, audio controls, or whichever system is being operated by the driver, to fill the remaining screen real estate.
This design, says Audi, allowed engineers to slim down the size of the center console as a whole, without reducing function for the driver. We can say that it looks very impressive as a demonstrator, but we will need some time with it in a moving vehicle before we're convinced it isn't slightly more distracting that a traditional setup.

New Audi Sport Quattro Laserlight geeks out with mad lumens

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

It's safe to say that, at least as far as automotive companies go, Audi's Sport Quattro Laserlight concept car is stealing the show here at CES in Las Vegas. The car's 700-horsepower hybrid powertrain and carbon-fiber bodywork mean that it would go like stink if it were ever allowed to turn a wheel, and the shapely coupe stance looks every inch the part of a modern-day super coupe, too. Better yet, the laser-powered headlamps that are the crowning glory of the concept car are actually slated for production at some point in the not-distant future.
We're talking about lasers here, folks. I don't know about you, but if you had told the 10-year-old, Real Genius-watching version of me that there'd one day be a car with lasers for headlights, well, I'd have wanted one of those things, pretty bad.
Anyway, Audi's lasers may not be able to ignite a giant pack of Jiffy Pop from space, but they are set to be the new standard for illumination on the road. The laser lights are nearly three times as bright and beam twice as far as current, top-notch LED high beams and were called "safer, sharper and more efficient" compared with existing technologies. That "safer" part works on two levels: the brighter beams offer far better visibility, naturally, but Audi also tells us that they won't dazzle oncoming drivers like traditional high beams will. That means you can drive with the maximum illumination at all times. Cool stuff, here at CES.
