1986 Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Spider VIN# ZARBA5416G1040180 Silver/Gray. This is the premium edition Quadrifoglio Spider that Alfa Romeo introduced to the US market in 1986. These were the most desirable of all the Spiders at the time. The Quads featured a new Front air dam, ground effects side skirts, a new rear spoiler, factory hardtop, new Alloy wheels plus a unique Quadrifoglio interior and more.... All Quads interiors came with speacial order Full Leather Sport Seats that were grey with deviated red stitching and red carpets. Plus they came loaded from the factory. It also has an upgraded stereo system with CD player
The Quad we have on offer was just purchased by us this month. It's in very nice condition overall plus I had the Alfa Auto Clinic service the car. The engine and transmission run great. The body's clean and straight plus the paint is nice too. It was resprayed about 10 years ago and still shows well. The leather seats have been reupholstered plus the fabric soft top was replaced about 5 years ago. Both are in great condition (and the fit is perfect on the soft top). The car also comes with the Factory Hard Top that came standard on the Quadrofoglio. I posted pictures of the car with the Hardtop on & off as well as the soft top up and down.
The cars currently at the Alfa Auto Clinic on Long Island as it was just serviced there. The address is 526 Merrick Rd Baldwin NY in case you want to check it out yourself. Or have them go over the car for you (if you want). We'll leave it there for the duration of the auction and then we'll be brining the car up to our dealership (Forza) in Connecticut. We had the Alfa Auto Clinic checkout the car for us before we bought it and it's a nice really nice spider for one with 116k miles on the clock. It spent almost it's entire life in the mid west and was barely driven for the last couple of years in NY. You won't be disappointed.
You can call the Alfa Auto Clinic directly if you want them to checkout the car for you at 1-516-623-0199 or to make an appointment to stop by and see it. You can call me (Michael Cannillo) on my cell phone at 1-917-620-8158 or Peter in the office at 1-860-350-1140. Thanks for your interest.

Marchionne offers belated apology for 'wop engine' comment
Wed, 22 May 2013Automotive News reports Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has issued a written apology for his comments regarding his decision to stick with an Italian engine for the upcoming Alfa Romeo 4C. As you may recall, back in January, Marchionne was quoted as saying, "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it has to be a wop engine." The CEO penned an apology to the Italian American ONE VOICE Coalition for using the racial epithet, saying that he made the comment in jest. Marchionne also said he realizes his remarks were unacceptable.
ONE VOICE, an organization aimed at fighting discrimination and stereotyping of Italian Americans, thanked Marchionne, Chrysler and Fiat for the apology. Marchionne is an Italian-born Canadian citizen, and he's gotten in trouble for other comments in the past. In 2011, he called high interest rates Chrysler was paying to the Canadian government "shyster rates." He apologized a day later.
Mazda engineers urging execs for more RWD models
Wed, 02 Oct 2013According to Edmunds, Mazda engineers are pressuring the company to create more rear-wheel-drive models, in an effort to better differentiate itself from its rivals. This push is reportedly coming from middle and senior engineers within the company, and these folks at Mazda believe this rear-drive strategy would allow the automaker to produce more distinctive, fun to drive cars. Mazda discontinued the rear-drive (and rotary-engined) RX-8 a few years ago, leaving the MX-5 Miata as the company's only RWD offering.
As enthusiasts, we're fully on board with Mazda offering more rear-drive cars, but unsurprisingly, the company's top management isn't exactly keen on the idea - and with good reason. First and foremost, the cost associated with redesigning fresh architecture for new models would be very high, and considering the fact that Mazda hasn't exactly been raking in the dough lately, an expensive new venture like this doesn't make a whole lot of sense. What's more, Mazda's latest front-drive models - the Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5 - have been very well-received, and are helping the company gain sales momentum.
But that doesn't mean there aren't other options. Edmunds reminds us that Mazda is already partnering with Alfa Romeo on the next-generation Miata, and if this collaboration is successful, perhaps the relationship could bear additional fruit. After all, Alfa Romeo is said to be working on returning to its rear-wheel-drive roots, so Mazda's engineers might be able to make a case for more RWD goodness after all.
