You're looking at my 1981 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce. This car was purchased in 2007 with 40,633 (confirmed by title) miles on the odometer and now has 47,254 miles on the clock. The car has been, as my wife calls it "my mistress." Over the years I have spent a great deal of time and money maintaining and improving her. The car starts easily the first try and settles into a beautiful idle. She idles well, runs well, and sounds spectacular.

Paint is in excellent condition - The car was repainted not long before and whoever painted it did a great job. Very clean with a lot of clear coat & depth.

The only thing that is not exactly as it should be is the switch on in the middle of the dash. The switch operates the in-tank fuel pump. I was having some problems with it, so rather than trace the wires and tear everything apart I decided the most reasonable solution at the time was to mount a switch to activate the pump. It's a nice big switch and it makes start up and shut down feel like a bit more of an occasion.

The tach, speedo, and all gauges work properly. The car handles well and is quick and comfortable. I've driven the car extensively over the years that I've had it, but the time has come to pass he on to another enthusiast who will take care of her. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere. After all the maintenance I've done over the years, the car is quite reliable.

Climate controls and interior fan removed (but included in the sale).
Rear bumper is missing center trim and has a wee bit of rust underneath.
Left front turn signal has some jb weld on it to fix a crack in the plastic cover.
In-tank fuel pump has manual switch in the center of the dash to switch the pump on and off.

As a reporter covering an auto show, the one opportunity you never want to miss is going to the Sergio Marchionne press briefing.

Behind the vanguard of numerous Jeep models, two Chryslers, a smattering of Fiats and Alfa Romeos and local production through a joint venture with Guangzhou Automotive Group (GAG), Fiat Chrysler wants to increase sales in China more than six-fold by 2018. The group sold 130,000 cars in China in 2013, the aim for 2018 being 850,000 cars.
Ultimately it's expected that the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, Wrangler, Renegade, the coming Grand Wagoneer and a sub-Renegade-sized crossover will either be built in or exported to the People's Republic. The Chrysler Town & Country and 300 will join the export list in 2016 and 2018 respectively, according to a report in Automotive News.
With a number of those vehicles not in production or perhaps even envisaged yet, and others not due on the local market until 2018, it will be interesting to see how Fiat Chrysler plans to achieve the target in the specified timeframe. The joint venture with GAG builds two products now, the Dodge Dart-based Fiat Viaggio launched two years ago - supposedly designed just for China - and the just-launched Fiat Ottimo, a hatchback version of the Viaggio. Fiat projected 300,000 Viagio sales in its first two years, that number has been adjusted downward to 94,000 and there doesn't appear to be an analyst alive that sees a good future for Fiat in China's overrun mainstream market. Still, last year's 130,000 group sales in China is a huge jump from 2012 sales of 66,000 units, but less than half the 300,000 units it projected.

Alfa Romeo 8C, Maserati Quattroporte and Granturismo models recalled over rust fears

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced Maserati and Alfa Romeo are recalling certain Quattroporte, Granturismo and 8C models over potentially faulty tie rod ends. According to NHTSA, 2005-2008 Quattroporte, 2008 Granturismo and 2008 8C units may have been assembled with tie rod ends that have insufficient corrosion protection. As such, the components may rust, weaken and potentially fail. If that happens, the driver could lose control of the vehicle and cause an accident.
Maserati and Alfa Romeo will contact owners and replace the tie rod end assemblies once the recall gets underway in June. All told, 7,438 vehicles are impacted by the recall. You can read the full NHTSA notice below for more information.
