Original Red California car-mostly complete-with most of a parts car (white car-now chopped up)

After media blasting the red car, it was clear the car needs a lot  of metal work - too much for me! 

My loss is your gain!

The pictures of the red car were taken before and as it was disassembled.  It is now media blasted and in gray primer.

The pictures of the white car are the parts car before it was chopped up. 

Wherever you see white parts (eg. dash with steering wheel and gauges, doors, bonnet and boot lid) those are what is left of the parts car

2 complete engines (disassembled and cleaned, ready for reassembly), all glass, extra set of vent windows, duplicates of most trim

8 wheels, extra set of doors, extra bonnet and boot lid, spare nose panel (rusty), 2 complete convertible top frames, extra set of gauges

The pictures of the red car were taken before and as it was disassembled. It is now media blasted and in gray primer and sitting on a skid. It is no longer a "roller" .  This is a serious project for a true enthusiast.

The pictures of the white car are the parts car before it was chopped up.

On average, Fiat dealers have only been selling about 17 cars a month.
We've been wondering for some time how Fiat dealers in North America have been getting along with just one model range in their showrooms up until recently. Franchisees spent millions building, stocking and manning sleek new 'studio' showrooms, only to have but a single model to sell, the cherubic 500. And even with its many derivatives, the Cinquecento is still an inexpensive model with its attendant lower margins. Perhaps it should come as no surprise then, that just 45 percent of US Fiat dealers are said to be profitable.

Alfa giveth and Alfa taketh away. With apologies to Job (he has gone through a lot, after all), that's how things are looking at the Italian automaker - whether it's the promise of new products or its impending return to the North American market. But it's especially true when it comes to new roadsters.
While Alfa Romeo is expected to unveil the 4C Spider at the Geneva Motor Show this week, reports are now suggesting that its other roadster project is being called into question. That project is a joint venture between Fiat and Mazda, which was set to produce a version of its next MX-5 Miata as an Alfa Romeo, and was even changing the design to accommodate Alfa's requirements.
Now it appears, however, that the whole project in doubt. The problem seems to stem from Sergio Marchionne's pronouncements that, as long as he's in charge, there won't be an Alfa Romeo built outside of Italy.

Alfa Romeo 8C, Maserati Quattroporte and Granturismo models recalled over rust fears

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced Maserati and Alfa Romeo are recalling certain Quattroporte, Granturismo and 8C models over potentially faulty tie rod ends. According to NHTSA, 2005-2008 Quattroporte, 2008 Granturismo and 2008 8C units may have been assembled with tie rod ends that have insufficient corrosion protection. As such, the components may rust, weaken and potentially fail. If that happens, the driver could lose control of the vehicle and cause an accident.
Maserati and Alfa Romeo will contact owners and replace the tie rod end assemblies once the recall gets underway in June. All told, 7,438 vehicles are impacted by the recall. You can read the full NHTSA notice below for more information.
