NADA trade in is $15,875. Asking $14,900/OBO so priced below what a dealer would offer

Regretfully selling my 2009 Acura TL with tech package with the 19" rims that came only with the AWD version. I had the dealer I bought it from swap out the standard rims with those. I used this car for traveling for my work but now have a company car so I don't have room for a second vehicle. I am the 2nd owner and bought it in 2010 with 6,000 miles on it. The original owner wanted something with less power. 90% of the miles I put on it were highway miles. I covered a 7 state area so I was mostly on the highway. A few main options are xenon headlights, push button start, you don't even need to take the key out of your pocket to unlock the door, trunk, or start the car. it has a built in hard drive that you can store your CD's on like a built in MP3, Bluetooth audio and Bluetooth phone, and you can even check the weather radar or show traffic on the navigation system. Car is in mint condition and just been professionally detailed. Call or email me with any questions. Below is the list of the options that come with the technology package. The nice thing with Acura is that their options are all in packages so all TL's with a tech package will have the same options, you can't get any other options on top of the tech package.

Auxiliary Pwr Outlet
Back-Up Camera

Reliving the Acura NSX debut, 25 years later

Sat, 03 May 2014

The Acura NSX might be one of the most important Japanese cars ever created. The Land of the Rising Sun had already established that it could make very competent performance vehicles when the NSX debuted in 1989, but Honda's two-seater was the first one that looked to the world like a true contender against Ferrari and Porsche, thanks to its cutting-edge technology. The Acura had an all-aluminum monocoque chassis, a beautifully low-slung body and a quick-revving V6 with an 8,000-rpm redline. This quintessential Japanese sports coupe celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, and Autoweek recognizes it in a fantastic piece chronicling the model's US launch.
The story begins in February 1989 at the Chicago Motor Show where the car debuted. The day before the show opened, the concept still didn't have a name. The Japanese development team referred to it as New Sports, and the American Acura executives decided to add eXperimental to the end. The moniker NSX just stuck afterwards.
The article paints a fantastic portrait of the car and the company at the time. Honda had something to prove with the NSX. To succeed, the coupe had to be the best, and when the American press finally got a hold of it, they drowned it in accolades. Of course, Acura has a new American-built NSX on the way, and it has colossal legacy to live up to. This piece is definitely worth reading to understand why.

Honda recalling 183k cars and crossovers over unintended braking issue

Thu, 14 Mar 2013

A recall has been issued for nearly 183,000 Honda and Acura brand vehicles from the 2005 and 2006 model years. The problem stems from a potential malfunctions to the vehicles' stability control and braking systems.
Drivers have reported a malfunction to Honda's Vehicle Stability Assist system, though to date, no crashes or injuries have been reported as a result of it. Some of the vehicles' Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) control units may have an electric capacitor that was damaged during manufacture. A damaged control unit could cause the VSA system to apply brake force for a "fraction of a second" without any driver input, or could add additional brake force if it malfunctions while the driver is already braking. Either example could increase the risk of a crash.
To fix the issue, Honda will install a new electrical sub-harness, free of charge to the owner. The recall specifies 101,000 Honda Pilot (pictured), 60,000 Acura MDX and 21,000 Acura RL vehicles from the 2005 model year will be affected. An additional 800 MDX crossovers from the 2006 model year are also included in the recall. In addition, 51,000 of the affected 2005 Pilots will be inspected to be sure that a ground bolt for the VSA system is properly tight. Should this bolt come lose, similar unexpected brake activation may occur.

Acura preps ILX for endurance racing challenge

Thu, 01 Nov 2012

Acura has used the occasion of this year's SEMA show to unveil a 2013 ILX that is remarkably different from the road-going car that we are familiar with. A far distance from the rather mildly performing street car, this ILX Endurance Racer is actually prepped to race at the grueling 25 Hours of Thunderhill in Willows, California.
The ILX racers (Team Honda Research has prepped two of them for the race) have actually each been constructed using two donor ILX sedans: one body-in-white chassis and one full production-spec car that donates powertrain, interior and electronic components. Overall, increasing the performance of the car was done mostly through extensive weight reduction rather than bumps in power. No figures have been given for the output of the ILX's K24Z7 engine, though we are told that a custom intake and exhaust have been fitted, as well as a racing flywheel.
A prominent LED lighting system dominates the front fascia of the ILX, along with a huge front splitter, while a massive wing speaks to the intentions of the car.
