I am selling my friend's 2007 Acura TL Type S that his wife bought new and now doesn't drive since she has a Tahoe.  The car is in outstanding shape and is the top of the line Acura sedan with all of the bells and whistles.  It has a 3.5L SOHC V6 with 286 hp, 6 speed automatic trans with paddle shifter, A/C, tilt wheel, cruise, power windows, locks, mirrors, Eight-way power driver's seat, heated front seats, a power moonroof, and dual zone climate control are just a few of the luxury items. The audio system is outstanding, with XM satellite radio found alongside the standard six-CD changer and surround sound DVD audio. Every TL also comes packed with safety features, including side, front, and curtain air bags, anti-lock brakes, traction control.  Aside from the potent V6, the Type-S adds stiffer springs, 17-inch alloy wheels, Brembo disc brakes, sport exhaust, distinct exterior and interior styling, and active noise cancellation.  It is equipped with the optional navigation system which includes voice-recognition and real-time traffic information.

The car has 4 brand new Michelin Pilots with 500 miles on them and were installed alongside new Brembo pads and rotors that also have 500 miles.  The car has fresh oil and filter and has had Mobil 1 Sythetic oil changes with Honda oil filters since day 1

This is a very fun, sporty and practical car with impeccable Acura engineering that should boost your confidence when purchasing in the upper echelon sedans. Its the perfect fairly priced, low mile luxury sport sedan that will be running strong for years to come.  54,645 original miles and all but garage kept (was stored under car port).

Acura Concept SUV-X is where brand should be going [w/video]

Sat, 20 Apr 2013

We're not saying Acura should off their Concept SUV-X for sale as-is, we're just saying we'd like to see Acuras that are interesting to look at on the outside, rather than just being packed full of technology on the inside. Revealed at the Shanghai Motor Show, the Concept SUV-X joins other compact high-rollers like the MG CS concept as an entrant for China's compact SUV segment.
But this won't be a concept forever. Acura says that the SUV-X is the precursor to a production offering from the brand in China that will come "in about three years." A presser below sheds a little more light on this and the Chinese version of the RLX that will go on sale in a few months, and there's a short video detailing some of the concept's finer points, as well.

Acura preps ILX for endurance racing challenge

Thu, 01 Nov 2012

Acura has used the occasion of this year's SEMA show to unveil a 2013 ILX that is remarkably different from the road-going car that we are familiar with. A far distance from the rather mildly performing street car, this ILX Endurance Racer is actually prepped to race at the grueling 25 Hours of Thunderhill in Willows, California.
The ILX racers (Team Honda Research has prepped two of them for the race) have actually each been constructed using two donor ILX sedans: one body-in-white chassis and one full production-spec car that donates powertrain, interior and electronic components. Overall, increasing the performance of the car was done mostly through extensive weight reduction rather than bumps in power. No figures have been given for the output of the ILX's K24Z7 engine, though we are told that a custom intake and exhaust have been fitted, as well as a racing flywheel.
A prominent LED lighting system dominates the front fascia of the ILX, along with a huge front splitter, while a massive wing speaks to the intentions of the car.

Acura TLX caught naked in production guise, can you spot the differences?

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

Acura doesn't tend to do concept cars these days that don't foreshadow a specific upcoming production model. The ZDX prototype of 2010 previewed the production version, as did the ILX and RLX showcars of 2012 and the MDX of 2013. The NSX concept is on its way to production, as the SUV-X concept is likely to do as well in the coming years. So when Acura revealed the TLX prototype at the Detroit Auto Show a few months ago, we all but knew it would only be a matter of time before that, too, would be produced. And here it is.
Spied all but completely undisguised while undergoing testing, this pair of TLX prototypes (one in white, one in black) looks almost identical to the show car. You might spot a few minor tweaks here and there - the strip of LEDs in the lower front bumper have been replaced by round fog lamps and some of the chrome accents are missing - but by and large, we're looking at the same vehicle we saw in Detroit earlier this year.
The finished production version of the TLX is expected to debut at the New York Auto Show next month, after which it will replace both the TSX and the TL, slotting in between the smaller ILX and the larger RLX in Acura's sedan lineup.
