Up for sale is my 1999 Acura TL. This car is in excellent shape!! I bought this car 6 months ago off of the original owner who was a family friend. She was in her 60's and took excellent care of the car. If/when you look up the carfax on the car, you will see it was purchased at Gatorland Toyota in 1999 and there are over 40 or so service records for the life of the car until I bought it. She always had it serviced there and never left out any of the normal maintenance. The car currently has 162,000 miles on it but at 121,000 miles, Gatorland Toyota installed a brand new(not rebuilt) Acura motor. The original one blew the timing belt and destroyed the engine. After the engine was installed, the transmission started acting up, so at 128,000 miles, the transmission was rebuilt.
The car runs awesome. I bought it 6 months ago with 147,000 miles on it. The only reason for buying it was to make a 200 mile a day round trip back and forth to work. I have put close to 20,000 miles on the car in this short time and now, thankfully, I have moved closer to work and can start driving my truck again. The exterior is in awesome shape. There are a couple scratches here and there, but you need to be right up close to the car to see them. There are no dents and no paint issues with the car. All the clearcoat is still there and nothing is fading. The car has newer tires on it as well. They are Falken tires with about 8,000 miles on them. They have PLENTY of tread left and they come with a transferable lifetime warranty from Discount Tire along with free rotation and balancing. The interior is also in excellent condition. The leather is all intact with no marks, stains, tears, holes, or wear marks. The carpets are clean aside from some stains on only the rear drivers mat but they are hardly noticeable anyways. All of the power functions work including the steering wheel controls and the Traction Control System is still functioning properly. Both heated seats work great as well and the sunroof opens and closes without issue. If you are looking for a great condition, reliable car, this is it. Honda S2000, Acura RSX recalled over brake boosters
Fri, 14 Jun 2013Honda has announced a recall that affects two of our favorite, dearly departed cars from the brand's portfolio: the S2000 roadster and Acura RSX coupe. A total of 5,239 S2000 models from the 2006 and 2007 model years are affected by this problem, as are 13,113 2006 Acura RSX models.
"A production error may have allowed brake booster components to be produced outside of the original specifications, potentially causing decreased brake assistance over time, which could increase the risk of a crash," American Honda said in a press release. Thus, dealerships will inspect and, if necessary, replace the brake booster setups in these vehicles, free of charge.
No crashes or injuries have been reported in relation to this brake problem. Honda says the problem was discovered during warranty claim analysis.
Honda integrating Siri into select models
Wed, 30 Jan 2013Honda has partnered up with Apple to bring Siri to the Accord, Acura RDX and ILX. Owners who have an iPhone running iOS 6 will be able to ask the software to perform a number of tasks via voice command using the vehicle's on board microphone and speaker systems. What's more, the tech will put the iPhone into an "eyes free" mode, which turns the screen off to help reduce distraction while driving. Honda says it has reworked its Bluetooth and HandsFreeLink systems to accommodate the Siri functionality. While the tech will only be available on three of the company's models right now, we imagine it won't be long before it shows up elsewhere.
As you may recall, Chevrolet integrated Siri into its products with vehicles like the Spark and Sonic, but Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler have also toyed with the tech to varying degrees. The seamless voice command seems to be light years ahead of the tech manufacturers are currently playing with. Check out the full press release from Honda below for more information.
Honda demonstrates new Vehicle-to-Pedestrian safety tech [w/video]
Fri, 30 Aug 2013We're fresh from a balmy rooftop deck in downtown Detroit, where Honda held a meeting this week to discuss and demonstrate a few upcoming advanced safety features. A clear focus of the mini event was the company's new Vehicle-to-Pedestrian (V2P) technology, with a suite of Vehicle-to-Motorcycle (V2M) tech a significant second course.
With spirits still high from announcing the 2014 Odyssey as the first minivan to win the Top Safety Pick+ status from IIHS - and after seeing the application of new high-strength-steel sections of the Acura MDX body structure - Honda shared the fruits of some safety tech that is still in the research phase.
