3rd Generation 1994 Acura Integra Ls Hatchback 3-door 1.8l on 2040-cars
McKinney, Texas, United States
This 3rd generation 1994 Integra LS was purchased in Feb 1998 from David McDavid Acura with 41K miles. Mileage is now at 232K due to metroplex driving. I LOVE this car, paid for it in full in 2002 and sold it to my nephew in 2006 when he was of driving age and I purchased a new Acura. Neither he nor I had any accidents in the car. It was extremely reliable and gas-efficient. He and I both received lots of looks and offers to buy it. However, the timing belt went out on it and instead of repairing it, my nephew opted to purchase a new car. He (and his mother) gifted the car back to me. And I am now in the market to sell. It has a clear title in hand.
The car is currently in good condition. The timing belt needs repair and the battery needs to be replaced (as it has been sitting idle for at least a year). It is a smoke-free vehicle with a clean interior, has normal wear and tear carpeting and small chips on the back bumper above the licence plate (virtually unnoticeable). In 2005, I got a new paint job and have leftover touch-up paint for the new owner. Both the speakers and cd player have been replaced (upgraded from factory). The buyer must arrange to pick up the vehicle. I will accept deposit via PayPal and final payment via cashier's check or cash when signing over the title. |

2013 Acura ILX Hybrid
Wed, 10 Jul 2013This Is Not The Acura You're Looking For
Mid-level luxury brands have always had to do a bit of leg work to distance themselves from their more common cousins. Thanks to generation after generation of pervasive badge engineering (much of it from the Big Three), buyers can't be blamed for looking at brands like Buick, Lincoln, Infiniti, Lexus and yes, Acura as tarted up versions of Chevrolet, Ford, Nissan, Toyota and Honda products. For much of its lifetime in the automotive landscape, however, Acura has excelled at putting distance between its offerings and that of its parent company thanks to cars with superior driving dynamics, quieter cabins and clean, attractive aesthetics.
Yes, outliers and dull spots can be found in the company's recent track record, but by and large, Acura products remain situated well above the Honda rabble. When the brand announced it was getting serious about the luxury small car game with the ILX, those of us with a set of the company's keys in our past couldn't help but envision an honest successor to the long-dead Integra. Turns out, that wasn't what Acura had in mind.
2016 Acura NSX aimed at Ferrari 458 for the price of Audi R8
Wed, 08 Oct 2014Acura has done a good job of keeping the next-generation NSX under the wraps for the past few months, especially after a fiery little incident during testing at the Nürburgring earlier this year. But UK's What Car? recently got a chance to speak with development boss Ted Klaus, and he unleashed a few new details about the much-anticipated supercar to make it even harder for us to wait.
Among the info was a strong estimate of the NSX's performance potential. "We have to achieve the type of acceleration that the customer is achieving with the Ferrari," said Klaus to What Car?. "More importantly we have to achieve this every day and also at the Nürburgring." Assuming Acura's supercar is as actually quick as a 458 Italia, then it could hit 60 miles per hour in around 3.5 seconds.
Klaus also claims that the wickedly fast performance could come at a relative bargain for the class. The price is reportedly being benchmarked against the Audi R8, which would put the NSX around $130,000 in the US. While hardly cheap, it would still be a healthy discount off a 458.
NHTSA gives okay for three automakers to skirt tire-related recalls
Thu, 25 Jul 2013BMW, Honda, and Mercedes-Benz are all going to avoid small recalls, after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued petitions for "findings of inconsequential noncompliance" to the three manufacturers, according to Tire Business. Basically, the petitions allow the brands to avoid recalls for some very, very minor issues.
BMW had tire placards on 364 X6 M CUVs that stated the car could only handle four passengers, when in reality it had room for three in the back. Actual plausibility of fitting three real humans in the slope-roofed Bimmer aside, the Munich-based manufacturer argued it was inconsequential, as the placards were correct regardless of the number of passengers.
Honda's case focused on 212 2011 and 2012 Acura TSX sedans equipped with 18-inch wheels. The TPMS systems on these cars were set for 17-inch wheels, rather than the larger hoops, but even with the lower settings, the tires maintain adequate load capacity.
